Beautiful day
Not my best game but a beautiful day, the staff was super and the course was in really good condition. Had a great time golfing with my wife.
Decent Shape, Narrow Course, Great Staff
This is an older type course in fairly decent shape (perhaps the tee boxes need some work). It is tree lined and narrow mostly, with lots of doglegs, so golfers prone to errant shots will spend a lot of time looking for their balls. A bit too expensive. The staff (front desk, starter, restaurant) are great.
Mehh ..Not my favorite place to go
Layout - dangerous on some holes, adds to slowdowns on others
Hardly any Marshal presence on course - slow downs and backups happen
Greens were in good shape
Fairways were decent
Tee boxes need some work (why do some courses not realize that nice flat, short cut tee boxes are the way it is supposed to be)
Need to have bells in a couple places to add safety
My friend said he never wanted to play there again - he has difficulty off the tee
Tight layout of course
Because of the closeness of the fairway s of the course for different holes, one has to be careful as balls from those playing other holes close by could stray into your fairway.
The pace of play was slow as there was a tournament underway ahead of us.
Worn out layout, overated
For a course that used to be a private course disappointing experience. Course except for greens were in rough shape. Bunkers were hard packed with stones.
Too many doglegs that you must reach the apex of the fairway to see the green
Safe your money, play other courses in the area.
Plays well , fairways in good condition
I always know what I'm getting , been here multiple times and always in good condition
Dissappinting
Overall the course is decent, and in reasonable shape. The greens are very well kept, roll true, and bunkers are groomed. The fairways are average and the tee boxes are just ok. Blows my mind that they don't pay attention to detail on the tee boxes as they are extremely uneven in some cases.
However, the big disappointment comes with the service received. We booked a time for 11:00am on a Monday which happened to be behind a tournament. Fair enough that happens. However, I was informed that there were no carts available and even after I informed the lady in the pro shop that we had people coming from all over the city including one player who has arthritis and that we booked carts with our time, her response was completely underwhelming. No apology, just "we'll do our best." We had to wait an extra 25 min for a cart and teed off 25 min late. Furthermore, the course was changed around. One hole was changed from a par 4 to a par 3 for the tournament and we were not notified even after talking to the Staff about carts etc. The level of service is poor at best and I would never pay more than 35$ with a cart to play this course. There are too many better options out there with staff who do more to look after you rather than brush you aside, take your money and don't communicate a thing to you.
Awesome Outing
Very friendly staff with good conditions for time of year.
Great local course - good challenge
Great conditions. Greens are immaculate. One par 4 played as a par 3 sure to home construction. Overall a very good course and while short it is challenging as its mature, narrow, and very well designed. Will definitely be playing again!
Great course and excellent food and beverage service
The course is in great shape and greens are running quite quick. The front nine is a bit more challenging than the back but all in all it is a nice course to play.
The food and service in the clubhouse were excellent and much more reasonable than many courses around Ottawa.
Disappointed With Groups Starting On #10
A friend and I teed off early (7am) in order to get a round in before work, and as we were the first group off, we finished the front 9 in just under 90 minutes. When we made the turn, we noticed that a number of groups of elderly ladies had gone off on #10, and as a result, the pace of our round ground to a halt. We ended up not finishing the full 18 holes.
In the future, I'd would at least like to be told that this is going to happen prior to teeing off, as part of the reason for the early tee time was to get a round in quickly.
The course seemed to be in fine condition, and the staff we talked with were very friendly. I would play the course again.
Great greens
Course is in very good condition. Greens in excellent shape. True rolls, me bumps at all. Fairways very good even this early in the season!
Played an ecellent spring round
It was on a Monday and the place was all to ourselves (probably because it was 7*C out). Was in good condition for how early it was in the season, and it wasn't soggy.
Slow Round
Pace of play was really slow. The course fairways are very close together and this leads to congestion. Plus all kinds of old dudes just randomly drive in your fairway looking at everyone's balls checking if it is theirs...even when you have told them it's not
Some nice holes but some too close to houses
I was very excited to try this course. It didn't start very well when the starter said : he would be better NOT to use your driver on the 1st hole to respect the houses next to the course. I was looking at him , and still went with my driver and made an excellent shot. I wasn't impress already. Another hole later , they have a sign suggesting not to use your driver again to respect the houses close to the course ....Ok , now I have enough , I didn't pay that much money to play mini-golf....Some holes are great but the ones that are too close to the houses well ...it is just not planned correctly...I will never go back again , there is too many nice golf course too worry all the time.
Worth it for sure
First time at cedar hill was awesome and I played it in fall conditions and the experience was fantastic the lay out of the course is great the holes are challenging but not to difficult. I will be going back in the summer of next year to get the full experience of this course and I can't wait I highly recommend this course to anyone that hasn't played it
Good value for money
Course was in good shape considering the time of year and amount of rain received in Ottawa over the past couple of weeks.
Not many folks on the course so pace was very quick.
Good value for money.
Intriguing configuration
This is a lovely course that gives the appearance of being compact without overly long holes. It has amazing par 3s. Almost all greens slope downwards making putting a tricky thing.
narrow course
several cross-over, making it unsafe for golfers on other fairways.
Hello
I have read your comment on the club and I am very disappointed to hear this. We pride ourselves on customer service. I would like to resolve this issue with you and offer that you and your guests come back to the club for a more enjoyable day. I will personally let the proshop know that the four green fees and carts are at no charge.
If you would like to contact me to arrange a tee time that would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at grobertson@cedarhillgolf.com.
