North Granite Ridge Golf Club

About
North Granite Ridge Golf Club spans 320 acres of beautiful woodlands in the heart of Muskoka. The layout plays through large boulders and towering trees across dramatic elevation changes provided by granite ridges, hence the name. The greens are undulating and the fairways are quite narrow, demanding both accuracy and skillful course management. It is home to the longest par 5 in Muskoka at 622 yards from the back tees. The challenges of the golf course are complemented by panoramic views that stretch deep into the forest, providing some scenic respite. Opened in 1999, North Granite Ridge Golf Club is fairly new but it has quickly become one of the area's must-play golf courses.

Excellent layout.
Only complaint was we played on a Tuesday. Was told on M and T no kitchen so food choices very limited. No sandwiches. Course very good though.
Great Track and super friendly staff
Fun track and the staff were amazing. I left my range finder on the cart and they found it for me. I picked it up the next day.
NGR
North Granite Ridge has really upgraded their game, from the paved parking lot and cart paths and reopening the pro shop out of the main beautiful log club house was a good idea.
The course is in great shape, multiple tee boxes have been ungraded, levelled and trees removed for more airflow to make the grass grow better, plus the addition of new tee blocks and new seed/sand boxes to repair you divots and most holes have new extensive gardens at the tee off ball washer and hole sign area.
New golf carts too, a little disappointed that they do not have GPS or plug ins for your phones but the do have divot repair sand/seed containers and ball and club washing unit right on the cart,
The practice range needs some work, the tee decks not very level and the grass needs to be better maintained, new balls are also needed along with bag stands and club washing buckets.
The halfway house food hut is great and you are able order on the ninth tee via phone call and ready for pick up near tenth tee at the club house , prices are reasonable, however the restaurant prices are a little steep, $22 for a hamburger! The on course cart beverages carts are available and came by frequently.
Overall the course is in great shape, greens are in excellent shape, rough high about 3 inches and tough, fairways are in good shape could be cut a little shorter but good, bunkers are pretty good but could be raked more.
Overall good value with friendly staff, good challenge for all golfers of every handicap.
Pace of play was 4:45 for the round but it was men’s night !
Cheers 🍻
Great course all around!
Definitely worth checking out if your in Muskoka. Reasonably priced compared to the competition and not lacking in any way. Compared to Deerhurst Highlands for example it is half the price and of similar quality, just a little more out of the way (15 mins).
Great first time at North Granite
Really friendly staff & great first time on the course. Beautiful scenery & well kept features. Was not busy during the weekday, which I expect will change come cottage season. Bring your bug spray, not bad on the fairways but helps keep blackflies & mosquitos away when you put balls close to the woods
Great course layout , in good shape.
The course has a great layout, it forces you to keep the ball in play. The guide book was crucial since we’d never played there before. I will go back, but not on a warm May Day, the black flies were ferocious.
Great Muskoka course - excellent friendly staff
Great example of Muskoka golf. Nice elevation changes, beautiful views. Was very quiet when we were there midday on a grey Saturday. Nice casual pace of play with no one behind us. The staff were all so lovely. Great being able to call ahead on the 8th for food and drinks at the turn. Recommend.
First time at course
We came up to the area for golf, found some courses we have played before that were a small fortune to play and found this course on golf now. It was an awesome course, greens were challenging to say the least. Husband managed some pars, for me double bogeys but enjoyed the day.
We would definitely go back next time we come back to the area.
Great fall day
Just a great time. Course and colours were beautiful.
Interesting layout, great value.
First time playing at North Granite Ridge. Staff were very friendly. Conditions were great other than the tee boxes that were in very rough shape. Pace of play was great. Would definitely play again.
Gets me every time
This is such a hard course on many levels. Long and narrow holes with forest on both sides. Fast undulating greens that are so hard to match pace with target. Many of the greens are elevated and hard, so very difficult to hold.
All that said, it’s beautiful with no back yards. Staff is friendly and conditions are always pretty good. If you shoot your handicap, ypu e done very well indeed.
