Great Value for the money...
Booked a 4sone and this was the first time 3 of us had played the course - thank goodness we had some insight on a few of the holes - thanks Scooter.... we never waited on one single hole, and we're not rushed from behind either - great pace of play, we were done in 4hrs flat. Greens were pretty true and in good condition. Definitely worth every dollar...... we will be back soon..
Great day of golf!
Early season and the course was in great condition. Green still coming into shape and will be great in a couple of more weeks. 2 of us got out at 845am and the four ball ahead let us though on the 5th.. No real hold ups the rest of the way.. done in under 4 hours. Great for a Sunday. Good early season golf experience.
perfect
Perfect for my twlight weekend.
Thanks for the friendly staff.
good, challenging course
The course was well maintained. The staff were very friendly. There were many people playing which is why the pace eventually slowed down. They did try to space out the players in the first tee (about 8-9 apart) but it just slowed down once you got to the 4th hole. It would also be nice if they provided yardage for those hazards in the middle of the fairway (e.g. 200 yards to clear the water, etc). Overall, it was a nice course to play.
Dry!!
The course was in "ok" condition, with everything green and the greens weren't punched yet. Green speed was average, tees were in good shape and the pace was average. But the course was very dry and firm (don't think the sprinklers were engaged yet). Difficult to almost impossible to take a divot and no ball marks from a high, well struck wedge (lots of roll-out). A little watering and rain wouldn't hurt at all.
great course for average golfer
I wouldn't pay full price, only if I get a deal on Golfnow
Excellent course due to staff
I haven`t played here for over 15 years, which is odd since it is a short distance from where I live. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There aren`t too many hazards to have to deal with. Yet, since the distance to the creeks isn`t marked down, it makes it a bit more challenging. My friend has played here often, so she helped advise me on where to shoot. I really appreciate how a marshal approached us and asked if we`d like to play through another foursome, who were slower. Later on another foursome told us to also play through also. Everyone was so polite and friendly. I`ve been at many courses, where you can catch up to people, but they immediately hit their balls so you can`t even ask them, even though they know they`re slowing down your game. It would be nice if the course map was more detailed so you knew where certain hazards were located, or if signs were posted. For players golfing here for the 1st time, it would be nice of there were better signs to let you know which scorecards to get (there are 3 courses). The course is fairly forgiving and the greens aren't too difficult to read. I ended up grabbing a scorecard, which didn't apply, but fortunately my friend had the right one. It would be really helpful if the grounds staff could blow off more of the leaves...if your ball bounces just off the fairway, it can be impossible to find it. Overall, I was very impressed and would play here again.
Slow Play
It took 5 Hours and forty minutes to finish the round because of slow play from groups ahead of us.
Bethesda
One thing that the Pro-Shop should do is tell players that they have just sanded the greens to make them aware of the conditions of the greens.
Other than that the course seems to be in good shape.
Great on the golf course
Pace was exceptional, clean bathrooms, challenging course. Was a great day on the golf course. Playing golf instead doing chores.
First visit at Bethesda Range
The course is of average difficulty with good sized fairways and not too dense for trees. The rough is pretty thin and short. The bunkers are a good challenge especially as it had rained overnight and made them hard underneath. Most drives a straight down and don't need a lot of draws or fades.
n overall good golfing experience for fun.
Economical Golf
Good course for the money but be prepared for a long round of golf. A quick round is 4.5 hours here and I've played before where it took 5.5 hours. Course is extremely busy and a lot of people walk. Lots of deals also leads to lots of golfers. I really like the course but it isn't a top 100 course or anything. Just something that you go to when you want an easy course to play or are golfing with a friend who isn't very good at golf!
Great course good valve via Golfnow!
This was the second time we played Bethesda Grange in the past week. Sunday 2 August was a Golfnow appreciation day that included lunch after the round. The course is in very good condition with friendly staff. My wife and I were paired up with two nice ladies and we had a fun round. The lunch after the round was also great. Will return to this course the next time we come to Toronto.
Bethesda Grange July 26
Course was extremely busy due to 3 or 4 tournaments booked on a hot Sunday. We did see marshal a couple of time and he apologised for the pace of play due to these tournaments. Recommend that keep tournaments only on weekdays and let us folks play the course in 4 hours as it was designed.
Good value to play a well conditioned course
It's been over 10 years since I played the course. A definite improvement since they did the renovations a few years ago. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition.
One of the challenges of playing a course like this is that you often get paired up with other golfers who don't speak English or are on willing to be friendly.
It would be nice if they created a hitting net so that you could loosen up before starting your round.
I would definitely come back if the price was right on Golf Now.
not a fair price golf course
even the location is near city, but the condition of course and design is not worth to pay the green fee over $65.
Pretty decent course
compared to the normal rolling hills facility, Bethesda grange is a huge step up. The conditions of this course was beautiful and the sand traps were challenging. I wish the place had a better club house but other than that, it's great.
Bethesda Grange
Decent course, easy to walk. Club house staffs and Marshall are friendly.
