Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club has an interesting layout that combines classic, links-style holes with parkland holes, meaning that there is a mix of open fairways lined with mounding and fescue and tight, tree-lined holes with dramatic elevation changes. Ponds and creeks throughout the golf course come into play on 10 holes and there are almost 50 sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. The front nine is mostly links-style holes with sloping greens and a creek cutting through the fairways. Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club’s back nine plays 300 yards longer than the front nine holes, offering many challenging par 4s and par 5s. There are many scenic holes on the course, including the par-5 opening hole, which plays down a valley then climbs up to a green that is perched atop a hill.

Challenging Course
Very challenging course, great conditions. Very busy
Restaurant and bar service is slow.
Played here a few times over the years. Always in good condition, but last time the starting staff accused us of damaging a cart. Asked if we "rolled" it. Not likely to return.
great course, too slow of play
This is a well maintained, moderatley difficult if played from the golds. The staff were friendly and helpful but the marshall had a difficult time getting slow players to move on. The play was much too slow and this was a common complaint not only from the players who have played here before but also from some staff. Would I return, i would like to but probably won't if this is a common occurence.

If you don't mind a little drive,this is the best high quality golf value there is.Great staff,great variety of holes.Great views,great conditions (considering the amount of play its getting).

The management team should be proud of their front line staff. Everyone I had contact with were very polite and helpful, even the beverage cart person asked not only how our day was but also asked if the pace of play was acceptable. Well done!!!
Good layout

this course has an excellent variety of holes , varried greens with great size to play to and fantastic undulations.
This course is always very well maintained and quite challenging.
A day at Tangle Creek starts off with a warm and friendly welcome from the pro-shop staff and starters. The course is always very well maintained. Each hole provides its own challenge whether it be length, elevation change or a variety of shots to specific landing areas to set up your next shot. You will use every club in your bag. The fast greens with many undulations add to the challenge. The pure beauty of the course with an abundance of environmentally sensitive areas make it well worth the visit.

Great Course but Ridiculously Slow!!!
I love that course by way over booked. I wish there were marshalls on the course to try to speed up the pace of play. It should not take 5+ hours to play that course (or any for that matter). My friend and I only made it to the 14th hole and we tee'd off around 2:30! Ridiculous! They either need marshalls or space the tee times out a bit better. Less is more!
Ignore the GPS!
Overall I like the course even though there are a few quirky holes. However, I hate their GPS system. It is frequently off by 10+ yards which is really bad with the many multi-tiered greens - it's hard to 2 putt from 30 feet coming down a 10 foot slope!
Over 6 hrs
6 hrs for a round is not acceptable ! They book too many tee times too close together ! Have Played there twice and long delays on many holes !
Course is always overbooked
Been playing this course since it opened, but within the last couple years its always backed up. They try to cram too many people in between 8 min tee times. Just be prepared to tee off about 10 or 15 mins later than your tee time. And expect a 5 hour round.

This course "always" takes way to long to play
I have played this course maybe 6 times this year at different times of the day, weekdays and weekends, and the fastest round was 51/2 hours.
We played on Sept17 and i was told that there was a tournament in the morning. I asked what a good time would be to play and was told after 1:30p.m. We got to the tee at 2:00 and had to wait for 3 threesomes and a twosome to tee off ahead of us. These people were in the tournament and played like no one else was on the course.
We had a one hour wait to tee off on number 10.
We saw the Marshall and he was saying or doing nothing to speed anyone up. I have never played one hole where you did not have to wait.

Big Difference between the front tees and the black t's. I think they would do better with extending times greater than 8 minutes. The course backs up quickly. Greens are in nice shape and roll true.
Clubhouse food is very nice but slow to come out. Give yourselves extra time for lunch/breky. At the turn opt for a burger/dog its faster.
An excellent layout.
The course rating system seems to allow only 3 choices in each category. For example, Course Conditions, and Value for Money is either Poor, Average or Great. If given a further choice, I would have placed this course higher on the scale for these two items - between the middle and high categories.
There are no two holes that are the same, which makes the course visually appealing. The condition of the course was not pristine, only because of rainfall deficiency the previous 2 months but, under the circumstances, was very good.
