Beautiful
Unfortunately the fairways were quite long but I think(hope) that was because of all the rain recently.
Very picturesque. Lots of undulation. Not a course to walk. There are a couple of odd holes. No. 16 in particular. As a first time player of the course, the biggest problem was several holes that had completely blind shots. There is no map on the score card and the tee block does not have a map of the hole either so you must resort to driving the cart way up the course to see where you need to go. The signage is reasonably good directing to the next hole but sometimes it is quite a distance and not always clear. A map on the scorecard would help here as well. I can't help but think some of these omissions will contribute to slow play.
Surprisingly Impressive City Course
Had never heard of this course prior to booking, but based on the previous reviews, took a chance. Very impressed. The greens were in excellent condition. The fairways, not bad considering the week of wet weather. The course is quite short, but includes some fun and challenging holes, especially on the back nine.
Worth the Trip
First time playing this course, and it exceeded expectations - especially at 5800 yds from tips. Landing areas were generally challenging. The highlight was definitely the back nine holes in the river valley. Very picturesque and some interesting "target golf" holes. Greens were in great shape - course staff was welcoming - even gave us a copy of the course guide, which did come in handy in the valley. Only downsides were the bunkers - which were a mess due to the heavy rainstorm two days earlier (which also wiped out their warm-up hole) - not sure what their normal condition of the bunkers is like. #18 is a simple hole that is not of the calibre of the rest of the course. Would be nice to end on something more memorable.
Wet But Worth It!
Teed off at 7:50am following an evening where the golf course received 3 1/2 inches of rain. Staff were extremely friendly and allowed carts on the course, requesting only that common sense be used. Carts were dry and ready for use. Track is a little tricky with some accuracy and distance needed off the tee. Greens were consistent (soft after the rain made pin hunting a lot of fun) and in good shape. Will definitely play this track again.
Fun, scenic, interesting layout
Course was in great shape. Not overly long so fairly quick round. WE both enjoyed it immensely and will be back soon.
best golf course
good course and nice worker and food
really good course
Course is difficult but still open enough for high handicap players
Too many blind shots to landing areas or greens. Very scenic and has a few good holes.
Too slow!
They pack the course with golfers with no one to regulate speed
Nice Course
This course is always a nice mix of holes with a challenging back nine.
Course
Some very challenging holes. Could use a bit more grass on the fairways of the newer holes.
Well groomed course and friendly staff = enjoyable day
Course was in great shape. It has been a couple of years since I played here. The new nine has developed and grown in nicely. The course is short to medium length but plays a little narrow in the valley. Try to be patient and go for positioning rather than distance.
Great staff!
We were late to arrive and initiated a call - the entire staff was exceptional.it was my home course as a kid, the the changes are terrific!
worth the challenge
Two different courses. Front nine old traditional style. Back nine very challenging new style.
Better bring your A game. Very challenging and some tight fairways. But very fair. A few blind shots.
Nice Golf Outing
Well worth the time to play this lovely course. Use the warm up hole to get your game ready for this interesting course. It presents challenges with water, traps, hills and carry over shots with which to deal. A few holes are 'blind', but, a quick run to check it out and all is well. Flowers, stone work and paved paths add to the whole sensory experience that is part of a good golf outing. The course is well maintained and moves along at a steady pace, but, do watch for the signs indicating where the next hole is to be found. We did not partake of any food, but, bbq smells were enticing. Will play here again.
DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH
Course is in great condition. Greens are a little hard due to the lack of rain lately but good as any. I played twice this weekend here and the second time I knew better where to hit it and where not to. Course knowledge helps a lot. Most par 4's you can leave the driver in the bag. Par 5 's are awesome and tricky. Better hit it straight. All in all I enjoyed it and would go back again and recommend it to anyone. The only I would have liked to see is a halfway hut across the road for snacks and refreshments since there is no stopping at the clubhouse between nines.
This course is beautiful with great features
This is a hidden gem. Each hole is unique and fun to play.
Some very nice views
Very good layout it is better to play more than once
The Bridges
Course was in fantastic shape, new staff was excellent. Recommend to anyone to play there! Very good value for the money!
Great Deal
Using the Golf Now site we were able to get the round for $ 19.99 on a Sunday morning whiich is a fantastic value. We were met by a variety of wildlife as a deer cut across the fairway very close to the carts.
This course was in great shape
Nice course, not an up and back course which is nice, challenging.
