Pine Valley Golf Club

The course wants to be good but needs some work to get there.

Tee blocks are rough. Fairways are inconsistent. Greens are ok but could use a roll and a cut to get them really rolling nice.

Front 9 is 'tunnel golf'. I'm sure playing a few times would help to know where to go. Back 9 opens up some and more to my liking.

Not saying don't play here. Saying if you do, don't set the bar too high.

I used to play here yearly. Have not played this course in about 5 years. Two hour drive for me.

Tee off blocks had more mud than grass

Grass in fairways slim to none. A green spot would be a weed.

Weeds in the greens. Many suffering from the drought this year.

Paying twice the price I used to pay, getting this garbage is just sad.

Fairways are patchy and beat up tee box. Greens are only decent in this course and very slow speed. Tight fairways with lots of trees.

I have played here a handful of times in the last and this is the worst I’ve seen this course! The tee boxes were essentially all mud and little to no grass. The fairways were burnt, hard ground and/or just patches of thick weeds. A little TLC and this course would be very nice. Glad I got a hot deal on GolfNow vs paying regular price for how bad the course conditions were. Let’s not even talk about the pace of play and letting whomever showed up to play through even if they weren’t supposed to be teeing off for another half an hour or so. Needless to say we waited 20+ minutes per hole to tee off and eventually skipped a few holes to not be logged jammed in that mess.

Tee blocks and fairways are in terrible condition. They are mostly sand, no grass. Have golfed here many times before. This year the course has been neglected.

Went and played a last minute round with my brother in laws... Was super fun but Norfolk is currently in a drought so was very dry in spots

Overall course and experience was great. Although course conditions were not at its best which I assume would be because of the long streak of hot an dry weather.

Course was dried out (not much they can do) but the greens has some rough areas that needed some T.L.C.

Tee blocks and fairways are absolutely brutal this year.

It's not because of weather conditions. It's neglect from a business standpoint. Will not return or recommend this course.

I played the first 9 alone, and then paired up with another couple after being asked to join them,

They were very kind, courteous, and quite humorous and it was very enjoyable.

Course was dry, greens were slow, but decent.

Staffs always a pleasure to deal with.

Cons…no scotch.

How can one play golf without scotch is beyond me..,

Greens and fringe are kept nice. Understandable how dry it has been this year, but the course is in dire need of sprinklers throughout the fairways and all Tee Decks.

Beautiful mature course with challenging undulations and target greens. Unfortunately the course was in terrible condition. Beyond ‘dry’ the fairways were more dirt than dry grass.

Tee blocks had not seen an effort at maintenance in in a long, long time.

Pace of play was also poor. Self induced , as examples by the starter allowing a group of 6 to go out ahead of us. Things crawled.

Sad to see the old place slip away. Not expecting to go back.
