About
Palo Duro Creek is a wonderful course that is sometimes maligned by the locals for being in less-than-perfect condition. Out-of-bounds squeezes the narrow fairways on most holes on the front nine as it winds through a residential community. Then water becomes the predominant hazard on the back, impacting almost every hole. Your approaches will find fast, undulating bent-grass greens.
The design features two challenging par 5s: The 549-yard No. 5 plays uphill into the prevailing wind, and No. 12 plays almost 600 yards with a tee shot through a chute of trees, and two more shots over water, including the approach into a green that is surrounded by the wet stuff. Another tough hole is No. 14, a 225-yard par 3 that requires a solid shot to carry the water.
Getting there : From I-27 south, exit Hunsley and go west. When you get to Country Club Dr., turn south and the course is about a mile away.

Great time on the course
Enjoyed a great round of golf at Palo Duro Creek. My biggest disappointment is the lack of consistency in Staff wearing of masks, even though the requirement is posted on all entrances, Two people behind the front desk, one wearing a mask. The second person put their mask on when I entered, and promptly removed it when I left. At the turn, neither were wearing masks. Two ladies at the grill - one masked, one not - in a very small space. I decided to skip my usual snack at the turn.
The Fairways are concrete
The course needs so much water. I thought the new water system was in place. I really was looking forward to a really green course. PDC is a fun course and the staff is great. For the money, the hard fairways to me are not worth it.
Decent course, greens in rough shape
Fun course at a decent value. Overall grass needs to grow in some to improve course condition and all greens need improvement to get rid of rogue grass making putting a game of pinball
Winter Play
We played in winter so you cannot expect pristine course conditions. The course is playable and the greens are decent for winter play in the panhandle. I feel perhaps they could do a little more to clean off the tee boxes but other than that it was enjoyable.
Always a great time!
Really like the upgrades to the course and the work they are doing during the off season. Wish they would put drinking water cans back out on the course.
Pleasant
On a hundred degree day, we were surprised that there was not drinking water out on the course. There's been drinking water before.
Great Hidden Gem
Overall great course! Construction still has the 9th hole playing like a long par 3 but a great course in great condition for a great price!
Construction warning
Overall course in good shape. I wish the staff warned of moved tee boxes and closed holes. Looks like their sprinkler system is being upgraded. I wish the fee was reflective of the golf round.
Go play it.....
Even though the course was going under some moderate changes. And one whole was not playable. The fairways were great along with the greens. The course poses a bit of difficulty in his placement. But all in all it's a great place to play.
