Carrizo Springs Municipal Golf Course

About
Carrizo Springs offers up an interesting 9-hole golf course that plays to a long 3,420 yards. The length is the only major obstacle as the fairways are wide, there are no bunkers, and the water hazards are minimal. Since the region is dry, the fairways are very firm and your ball will roll more than it normally would on a lush fairway. However, this course makes up for the lack of watering the fairways with a reputation for outstanding greens.
The 440-yard par 4 No. 4 is the number one handicap, and hole 6 is a long par 5 at 565 yards. Both par 3s are close to 200 yards. Your best chance for birdies are the 500-yard No. 1 and No. 5, the 360-yard par 4. The course offers two sets of tees for an 18-hole round. The course is more crowded in the afternoon, but if you show up early you'll often have the course to yourself.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take Hwy 85 west and the course is on the left side.
