P.A.R. Country Club
About
This course stands out among the small-town courses of this region for two reasons: it’s very demanding, and it has one of the better layouts you’ll find. The course rolls through the hills on the banks of Proctor Area Recreational Lake, and while the lake doesn’t come into play on any holes, there are seven ponds scattered throughout the course, many strategically placed in front of greens. The medium-sized fairways are tree-lined and there are only a few dogleg fairways.
Your best scoring opportunities are on the much-more-forgiving front nine. The first two holes are among the easiest on the course. No. 1 is a 282-yard par 4 that offers the chance to drive the green, and No. 2 is a short par 3. Work your way through moderately difficult holes 3-7; the easier Nos. 8 and 9 will then give you the chance to wrap up the front in style.
The back nine can destroy your round, particularly holes 13 and 14. From the tips, No. 17 plays 583 yards and is listed as the number one handicap. By the time you reach 18, you’ll be glad to see the short par 4 under 300 yards.
The only negative might possibly be the average condition of the greens, but as a whole, this course is a must-play if you’re in the area.
Getting there : From I-20 driving east, take Hwy 36 east, then take Hwy 377 (Hwy 67) north. Turn left at the Proctor Dam and PAR sign and drive about 2 miles. Turn left on the paved road to the entrance gate.

Great Course!
I enjoyed the course. It’s wide open and could use more bunkers. Some greens had damage from wildlife.
Mad Dad here,
Do not spend your money here. Made clear by there staff “the marshal” kids weren’t welcome. He poked and prodded everyone at every hole and to keep it peaceful our entire group left to go elsewhere, Perry in Hamilton is a far better choice! Without the kids you have no future! It’s a public course if you don’t want kids to come play and learn this sport then make it private. Sinking ship.
Ouch, that left a mark.
Comanche county has had lots of rain this year after multiple years of drought conditions. I was amazed by how poorly the course was mowed and maintained. It's apparent that they have a defective fairway mower by the scalped turf throughout the course . Very disappointing when you hit a drive in the fairway only to find you are sitting on bare ground because of bad mowing practices. The object is to actually have playable turf in the fairway. The greens pretty are nice.
Very nice hidden gem.
This course is well taken care of and a fun track. Everyone seems so friendly, and it’s much less crowded than courses in the metroplex.
Nice round
Country course really surprised me. Short but challenging course. Tee boxes were in excellent shape. Greens were for the most part rolling smooth.
Challenging but fun!
The front 9 is wide open for the most part, great for beginners. The back 9 was very challenging. As a scratcher golfer like myself I throughly enjoyed the course. Staff was friendly and courteous. Will be playing here again
First time ciait
Really fun course! Front nine is wide open and great for beginners. Back nine had more trees and hazards which made it fun to play.
Overall course had a few cosmetic issues but nothing too bad. Club house has seen betters days. Basic snacks, no food, but had drinks and beer.
Played with group of 4 and we all said we would come back.
