Great Course, Unfriendly Staff
I'd like to start off by saying the staff as a whole was very nice with the exception of one older guy in the clubhouse.
I brought my girlfriend with me to ride along as we were on vacation in the area. When we arrived, there was a sign on the clubhouse door saying only 2 carts would be given out per group with no exceptions. This information was not given anywhere on the website or on the phone when I booked. When I asked if she would be able to ride along with me, this guy immediately said no, directing me to the sign as if I didn't know how to read. Fortunately, there was another guy in the clubhouse who said there would be a couple of extra carts that day so she would be able to ride along for a fee which is what I expected.
Aside from the unpleasant first impression, the course itself was amazing, especially for a muni. The fairways and rough were green and lush, the greens were lightning quick and rolled true. There were some really fun and interesting holes and I would love to come back here, but am wary of having to deal with the mess in the clubhouse.
Fast Greens
Our first time playing here. John the starter was very friendly and set us off in great spirits. The course was in good condition, with the greens being very fast with lots of slopes. These greens were as difficult as we have ever played - not complaining, as the warmup putting green was a perfect reflection of the course greens. I can see why the Colorado Open was played here in the past, as it would challenge even the best player. Nice layout.
First timer
Good test of golf. First time played. I will play it again
Great greens
Turn off the fan!
Just kidding, the course was in great shape. The wind blew us all over which made the course play longer than normal but still a lot of fun. Greens and fairways were in great shape.
Nice driving range and practice putting green. 3rd time playing here, I’ve never met an unfriendly employee or customer.
Thanks again we’ll be back. Keep up the great work.
B-Team This Morning
Yeah we got the B-team this morning. The staff is total trash money. We have no I’ve been awful beginning.
Saddle Rock on 5/28/22
My first time playing Saddle Rock and enjoyed it very much. Course was in excellent condition all around but for some lingering thinSpits in the fairways probably due to normal winter weather damage. This was a minor issue, however. Greens were excellent.—neither too fast nor too slow and very consistent.
Always a challenge
Bring your A game to this course. Play from white if you havent played here before.
A lot of brush and hazard areas have been cleaned up that makes for better play.
More than one bucket for wetting towels needed.
Amazing course fair price
Nice track, greens were great not easy enjoyed the round.
We loved playing here, we will definitely be back again soon!
This is a really fun course! Most friendly, polite accommodating staff. Pace of play was right on, the course was in good shape and presented some interesting challenges. The course is in great condition, beautiful greens are rolling fast and true and the pace of play is the best I've seen. The restaurant to speak; my group and I were very satisfied from the service and food.
Course is beautiful...staff not so much
When you read about Saddle Rock many of the reviews address the poor attitude of the pro shop. The reviews are spot-on. On the several occasions we played the course the pro shop staff is surly, condescending, and just not the people you want working at a city golf course. The poor treatment was not unique to us. The nasty culture is pervasive throughout the staff. The course itself is beautifully maintained and really fun. The front nine in particular is a wonderfully designed course. It is a nice course to play after you get past the front desk folks.
