Saddle Rock Golf Course

About
Saddle Rock Golf Course is another course is the city of Aurora designed by golf architect Richard Phelps. The public, 18-hole course is 7,351 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. The golf course provides more than just a good game of golf, Native American artwork is displayed throughout the course and the natural landscape is simply beautiful. The front nine has lakes while the back nine turns into wetlands, creating not only a visually interesting course but also a challenging one due to the water hazards they provide. Course is beautiful...staff not so much
When you read about Saddle Rock many of the reviews address the poor attitude of the pro shop. The reviews are spot-on. On the several occasions we played the course the pro shop staff is surly, condescending, and just not the people you want working at a city golf course. The poor treatment was not unique to us. The nasty culture is pervasive throughout the staff. The course itself is beautifully maintained and really fun. The front nine in particular is a wonderfully designed course. It is a nice course to play after you get past the front desk folks.
Premier Not
I have played this course many times and consider it my home course but it seems this course condition has deteriorated the last few years. So much winter damage on the greens and marshals do not track pace of golf. Today was a good score considering conditions but would have loved to get a true roll on the green. Premiere golf it is not and the golf fee does not reflect a good value. Played many courses for $22 that were far better condition and play than Saddke Rock.
Best of the Year
This course is amazing. Best course I’ve played this year.
Perfect greens. Nice rolling hills front nine.
The front nine is pretty and relatively tame. The back nine gets tight and tough.
I've played it twice in 2 years and the greens were perfect both years.
The 10th hole can be a killer. Leave the driver in your bag and hit a club a that tree in the center of the fairway for a safe 2nd shot to the green.
Enjoy those greens and try to stay below the hole to avoid 3-putts.
