Heather Ridge Golf Course
About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

The storm missed us but we did get a sunset rainbow. Photo submitted by Buckeye28 on 08/01/2013
Making tee time
Could barely understand answering lady for tee time for reservation. She couldn’t answer questions about course. Never played there and should’ve just called clubhouse directly
Fun golf day
As always we had a great time playing Heather Ridge the staff are always friendly and helpful, the course is still in great shape and we played in less then 4 hours. Awesome expereince.
Warm up
It would be nice to be able to warm up on the driving range with your driver and woods. Maybe adding some nets so that people can hit driver would allow some of us to gauge how we’re hitting our long clubs to make those adjustments. Nets are inexpensive and if just one space with a time limit that would help a lot.
What condition in December!
This course is in fantastic shape all the time, but for December, it's unbelievable. Heather Ridge doesn't get the respect it deserves. There's more to golf than the length of a course and Heather Ridge hits all the other marks. Just a lot of fun to play, give it a try!!
For December, not bad..
Public course, pretty good shape for December to be honest. For $50 I got my money worth. Pace of play was a bit of a mess on the back, but other than that not really much to complain about here.
Good Day
Played this course for the second time, conditions were really good, greens were fast and smooth, traps could use more sand. Could not believe how playable course was, it’s middle of November in Colorado. Nice people, good value, tricky little layout. Fun course.
Course is great, app does not work with it
I booked an 8:15 tee time almost a week in advanced through this app, when I got to the corse they told me they didn’t have me on the tee sheet, apparently the app doesn’t work with their system so I would definitely not book the course through the app however it’s a great course!
Great course... HORRIBLE cart partner!
Love this golf course, 12th round this season so far BUT... sharing a cart with a DELUSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL FOOL is distracting!
See the picture of him way up near the green on hole#9, clearly twenty+ yards past the cart sign limits... he did this all morning long on the front nine holes. On Hole#8, he hit his tee shot on this Par-3 way left over onto Hole#7 left side rough. He wanted to drive over to it and I immediately said "no, I'm not going on that hike with you!" He then drove right across the front apron area of Hole#8 green to get to his ball and then again, back across to the cart path area... not even on the cart path. The Ranger drove by at that moment and alerted us to keep the cart on the cart path. Then he pulled the stunt pictured on Hole#9 so I quickly finished and walked up to the Pro-shop to request my own single cart for the back nine since this guy clearly didn't care about any golf course management, rules, etiquette, common courtesy or common sense!
He walked away from the cart on Hole#9, saying, "Take the cart. I'm in the front bunker." leaving it for me to have to drive back away from the front of the green area, back to the cart sign limits like he should have done in the first place. That upset me since he's been doing this all morning. I told him, "Stop leaving the cart in the wrong areas for me to have to fix!"
Look, life and death, of course not but a fool out there making up his own driving rules and damaging the golf course because he's too lazy and stupid is very distracting, especially for me, stuck riding in the cart with this jerk!!!
He even joked about the Ranger not seeing him way over on Hole#7 fairway, driving across the front apron area of Hole#8! When I got my own cart, he foolishly asked me, "You got your own cart? What? You don't like my driving?" I immediately looked at him dead in the face and said, "NO, I DON'T! Now you can drive however you want!"
He kept mouthing off about this on the tee-box of Hole#11. DELUSIONAL... he was actually upset that I would get my own cart to get away from his bad driving and ignoring of golf course etiquette, common courtesy and common sense... to him, he'd somehow done nothing wrong, and I was imagining it all or something!?!?!
Bad golf is one thing but when you're driving the cart and are reckless at that, of course, the other player stuck with you should do something to get some control of that issue! The other issue that was stuck in my mind and BACK was the fact that EVERY TIME WE HAD TO STOP for his shot, he would hard-stop the brake pedal, jarring my back!!! JERK... there is someone else riding in the cart with you!?!?!?! DON'T DO THAT!!! He knows this but either did it on purpose or he was truly oblivious to another person riding with him... equals STUPID!
I won't mention a name here but be aware and beware of this local Heather Ridge guy if you get matched up with him on a cart and he's driving!!! He smokes a cigar that he will consistently blow the smoke in your face and in your direction again, because he's an inconsiderate JERK!!! Then you're stuck playing golf with him for four-odd hours and babysitting this old man until you get your own cart like I did!!! GOOD LUCK!
Fun but Tight
Great course for the money. Super well kept and very well watered. Very tight course but super fun to play.
