The Cliffs Resort
About
One of the gems of Texas, The Cliffs is perched alongside the scenic Possum Kingdom Lake with its “18 signature holes” highlighted by 100-foot elevation changes, massive rock outcroppings, narrow, tree-lined fairways, and an infinite number of ways to destroy your golf round. Remove your expectations when “enjoying” The Cliffs, because it is a totally different golf experience. Hazard after hazard awaits from every angle, sometimes making it difficult to “enjoy” your golf vacation. Canyons, creeks, cedar and oak groves–everything imaginable gets in the way while you’re hacking it toward the immaculate bent-grass greens.
The signature of signatures is the terrifying No. 15, a dicey par 3 that drops 100 feet over a cliff down to a miniscule green that is surrounded by the cliff wall to the left, water right, and sand in front.
Getting there : This course is located on Star Route outside of Graford, 75 miles Northwest of Fort Worth near Hwy. 16.

The greens are pure!
The course is set up awesome and is in great shape right now! Will definitely be going back a few more times.
Perfect day with perfect conditions
Really really nice conditions and perfect weather. Overall perfect experience. Tees and fairways in great sharp and greens ran smooth and fast (about 10 ish on stump and smooth). Really no bare spots. Fairways as nice as I’ve seen at The Cliffs in a few years. Ah and the weather was to die for. Perfect sun/light clouds and 85 degrees with very little wind). Finally got a fantastic rate versus full price. Perfection all the way around.
Great Tough Course with Scenic Views
Great course, super tough holes throughout. Sand traps need to be redone but we will definitely play again soon.
Premium cost, not premium conditions
I love the cliffs…..But…the conditions are not impressive. We are nearing summertime so conditions should be matching that. At $99 I would expect much better. The bunkers have no sand. There are many dirt spots in fairways and the rough. Greens were top-dressed which has to be done so I’ll give a pass but overall the conditions did not match the price. Please put the necessary money back into the course to return it to the premium track it has been in the past.
Tough but great!
The Cliffs at PK is a beautiful course with immaculate fairways and greens. The restaurant and bar serve great food and drinks for those still upright after the tough 18 holes. I highly recommend it but can’t speak to the accommodations but they look new.
Tge Cliffs
My wife and have played several courses in Texas and The Cliffs is our favorite. The views are amazing and the course was in great shape. It is a super challenging course and there is a lot of opportunities to go for it or lay up. Which causes the course to eat a lot of golf balls but part of the fun.
Worth the drive
Well worth the 1 1/2 drive from Granbury will definitely play again
Poor Bunkers
The sand bunkers did not have any sand in them and were some of the worst i have ever payed.
Challenging and Scenic, Bunkers are Trash
Really like this layout, it is tough and gorgeous.
Carts with GPS are helpful for several blind shots.
Greens are good, fast and a lot of slope, so very difficult.
Tee boxes and fairways were just average.
The main drawback to this course is the bunkers; they are absolutely trashed and unplayable, not to mention a huge eyesore.
Tough!!
Course is in excellent condition. Staff was awesome. Definitely one of the hardest courses I’ve ever played. If you want a challenge, this is the course!
Fantastic course
Great, very challenging, scenic course. Fairways and greens are in good shape. Greens are good but not great, the grass is a little sparse but they seem to roll fairly true. The sand traps have mostly been abandoned and the people I played with just removed the ball to keep from hitting rocks. The layout from the blues really pushed driver and any push or fade turns into penalties since there isn't room to spare on the sides before trees/brush and Cliffs.
Beautiful
Real Texas feel with beautiful views. Use the GPS. A lot of spot golf. Forces you to play smart. Can’t beat the sunset rounds at this track. Took the 2hr drive from DFW. Worth it
Bring some ball’s!!
What a lay out……last time I played was over 25 years ago…. The course has filled out nicely……couple weeks the punched greens will be excellent!!
