The Cliffs Resort

Spent a week at Pk with the family. Decided to get some golf in, so took my son for his first time to play the Cliff’s. Everyone from the pro shop to the golf cart gales were first class as always. Course was in as good of shape as expected in a 104 degree temp in Texas for late July. We played mid morning on a Monday with very little traffic and no pressure to hurry along. Love this course and as challenging as usual.

The Cliffs has some very nice views and the course has a lot of potential. However, considering the price was $77 during the week it was way over priced! The greens aren’t recovered from being punched but the main issues with the course is not the punched greens. The tee boxes need to be completely redone. Most have little to no grass on them. The fairways were in terrible shape. Well over half of them are unplayable unless you move the ball - from the middle of the fairway - to some grass at some point in the fairway or even the rough. Bunkers were washed out and need a ton of work. The greens - as I said recovering from being punched - however there are large portions of various greens that have dead grass or even no grass at all.

The staff was welcoming, golf carts were nice and as I said the views were good.

All in all I was very disappointed with the course. There is plenty of potential, however a lot of work needs to go into the course.

I play this course often and it has some incredible cliff views overlooking Possum Kingdom Lake as well as the rolling hills. The staff in the pro shop, including Mike the head pro, are friendly, top notch people. With all the rain earlier this year, the course had been growing in nicely and a month ago was in the best shape it had been in years. However, due to an issue with the sprinkler system, half the fairways were burned out. Greens were good and fast though. It was disappointing to see this happen and I hope the Cliffs HOA, which is responsible for course maintenance (Mike and his team do not have influence over course maintenance), will spend the money to bring things back to solid conditions.

The course is great, the people are great. The pace of play was slow. They allow fivesome’s and that slows everything down.

First time playing the course as we were traveling across the country visiting friends. A real treat to play. Challenging with some epic and unique holes. its a must play if you are in the area.

Incredible golf layout. However, the greens were incredibly long and uncut. They recently punched holes in the greens, so I assume it has something to do with that. Talked with a regular and he said the greens are never like this. The tee boxes were uncut and had long grass and weeds growing up, and the bunkers were filled with rocks. With that being said, if they mowed and had the greens rolling at regular speeds, I would 100% play the course again.

The course is very challenging with lots of cliffs. I guess that's a given considering the name of the course. The course was in good shape for winter play. The greens were in good condition and putted true. Enjoyed the round and the staff was great.

The Cliffs is by far my favorite course in Texas! I have played multiple courses in Ireland and it beats a lot of them!

I play the Cliffs multiple times a year and it is always a fun and challenging course! Fairways are in great shape (even the Texas summer heat) and the greens roll true.
