One of the gems of Texas, The Cliffs is perched alongside the scenic Possum Kingdom Lake with its “18 signature holes” highlighted by 100-foot elevation changes, massive rock outcroppings, narrow, tree-lined fairways, and an infinite number of ways to destroy your golf round. Remove your expectations when “enjoying” The Cliffs, because it is a totally different golf experience. Hazard after hazard awaits from every angle, sometimes making it difficult to “enjoy” your golf vacation. Canyons, creeks, cedar and oak groves–everything imaginable gets in the way while you’re hacking it toward the immaculate bent-grass greens.
The signature of signatures is the terrifying No. 15, a dicey par 3 that drops 100 feet over a cliff down to a miniscule green that is surrounded by the cliff wall to the left, water right, and sand in front.
Getting there : This course is located on Star Route outside of Graford, 75 miles Northwest of Fort Worth near Hwy. 16.

Beautiful
Real Texas feel with beautiful views. Use the GPS. A lot of spot golf. Forces you to play smart. Can’t beat the sunset rounds at this track. Took the 2hr drive from DFW. Worth it
Bring some ball’s!!
What a lay out……last time I played was over 25 years ago…. The course has filled out nicely……couple weeks the punched greens will be excellent!!
Not organized
Pro shop was not organized. Didn’t have carts available for afternoon tee times and bumped our tee time (made on Golf Now by 10 minutes). No starter on a Saturday also. . Greens were alittle bumpy. The course is just a hard course to play, so if you need a reality check on your game, go play the Cliffs for sure 😂

Enjoyed our entire visit! Staff was awesome and the course was amazing! We will be back often!
Beautiful Course in Great Shanoe
Course was absolutely beautiful and in great shape. There was a tourney in front of us that made for slow play. I highly recommend the course!
Beautiful course!
Have never played a course with a lay out like this. So many elevation changes, every hole was a different look. Just beautiful. Only negative was the greens had recently been punched. But that should take care of itself soon.
Bring your balls
Still a great course. It's tough. Bring a few extra balls, any shanks are going to be tough to find. Make sure they are Pro V's so I can find a few more myself. The restaurant on site serves great food so don't miss out on that as well.

Excellent day in ideal weather
Even with aerated greens the place is in excellent condition coming into the late spring. The tees and fairways were ideal and greens were as expected running slower and bumpy. What a beautiful day at the lake with perfect sun and lower winds than usual. The vistas were as ideal as they get at the cliffs. Beautiful beautiful.
Course layout was fun. Definitely winter conditions, with dormant grass, but the course was playable and greens were in good shape. Would like to try it again when the course is green. All in all a nice day to golf and decent pace (some slower play on the back nine).
Excellent layout. Tough winter course conditions
Course layout is excellent. It appears they are doing work on parts of the course, which is a good sign. Several tee boxes were being rebuilt. The course does struggle with conditioning at times - bunkers need better drainage and sand, tee boxes should be rolled and flattened, and there are areas on the fairways where a perfect shot in the middle will roll off the course to an unplayable lie. This latter point is exacerbated in the winter when the grass on the fairways are thin as they are not overseeded. Overall, I really like the place. The layout is great and the staff are excellent. It is definitely a fun place with some incredible views. It could just use some consistent investment and TLC.
