Oakmont Green Golf Club

Most of the greens were in rough shape definitely should have been better for the time of year. Very bumpy otherwise course was in great shape.

I haven't played this course in probably close to 20 years. We decided to try it today. It is an easy course to walk--mostly flat except for holes 10-14 (on the other side of the road) where there are some ups and downs. This course is very interesting with a variety of hole shapes. You can't just grip it and rip it, but need to think your way a little bit around the course. Fairways can be tight in the landing zones so you need to take that into account. There is also water on several holes--some with small creeks running alongside the hole and then cuts across near the green; as well as some pond holes which you have to carry to get to the green (#8 and #12).. You need extra club to carry the water--be warned. Holes #14, #16 and #17 were extremely soggy...the fairways felt like there was water laying under the fairway grass (almost felt like a water bed!!). I was generally pleased with the condition of the course (other than the three holes identified above), and the greens were very nice and a good stimp. The staff was very friendly and came out to let us know when we had the tee box. Oakmont Green is not a premier course, but it's a great walking course with an interesting layout and reasonable prices. We walked for $19!

Fairways soggy, traps water logged. All understandable given rain. But greens were poor.

Course had some water due to all the rain we had so it was cart path only. Course was in fine shape. Greens are in good condition. Staff is fantastic.

Been playing this course for 17 years. Still my favorite. Easy to walk and great value. Staff very friendly.

This is a nice course for seniors or golfers that want to work on their short game.

The course was in very good condition especially in lieu of the hot dry weather. Greens were a little slow but would expect that to maintain the greens from burning out. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Would definitely play again!

The course was in good shape. They were working hard to keep it up. The staff were out watering everything. We went off early and buzzed around in 3hrs. The only down fall was a few bunkers had rocks. Plus the greens were a little bumpy. I would play again.

We played on the 4th of July and it was a bit slow and a little costly ($49). It's not a $49 course but the holiday makes it so. I would play again but find a better deal. Nice layout and everyone was friendly.

This is a very nice course. Not very difficult, pretty straight. It’s favorable for players that scramble a little off the tee. There are very few holes that punish you for being off the fairway. Greens played pretty true. Only issue we had was a pair of elderly couples ahead of us. They were playing from the reds and were EXTREMELY slow. On a par five that was a dog leg. They took 5 shots a piece to get to the dog leg. It was frustrating for us, a pair, for a foursome that was taking as long as they were. For holes 6-9 we were waiting for 10 minutes to tee off. Than we had to wait to hit out second shots. Would have been nice to have had someone either tell them to allow us to play through. Or have them skip a hole. We played in peak times.

Spent a wonderful day playing a round of golf at Oakmont Green with some great friends. One buddy had never played there but was extremely impressed with the layout and value. Pace of play was a little slow on the front nine but we cruised through the back. Awesome day of golf

I have booked as a single four times over the past 18 months. I'm a very social person and purposely book tee times so I can join others rather than play alone. Two of the 4 times at this course, the group I was paired with made it clear they did not want anyone else joining their group. I thought folks in rural areas were supposed to be friendly.

This recent time, I commented to a staff member. The head pro overheard and began rationalizing saying that they don't usually book singles. When he learned I booked on GolfNow, he said THAT was the reason it was OK to bump me from my scheduled time as a single. But what if I booked as a twosome joining another twosome? Well THAT would not be OK, he said. The discussion lasted about 10 minutes with the Pro making up one rationalization after another as to why it's OK to bump singles. He even admitted that he was rationalizing.

It's clear. Singles are second class customers. Too bad. The course is decent. Just not welcoming. Unless you can bring in revenue from two players or more.
