With a little more attention by the groundskeeper this would be a very good course!
Positives
1. Nice Course design.
2. Nice Clubhouse.
3. Friendly staff.
Negatives
1. Very Poor/Bad sand bunker maintaince.
2. Greens need to be rolled daily.
3. Seems like ownership does not want to spend the extra money to get this course in Great Condition.
Typical Early Spring Golf
This was a typical early Spring day of golf. An absolutely beautiful course, great layout, wonderful Clubhouse and very helpful, friendly staff. The greens had been freshly aerated with NO sand fill which made for very rough putting. The numerous bunkers (which there were many since this is a Links style course) had little to no sand in them. I am sure that with warmer weather and more attention to the course, the conditions will improve. Looking forward to playing again in mid-summer to see the hopeful course improvements.
Terrible Course
Golf Course was in terrible condition. Actually the worst I've ever played. Even $20 to ride 18 was way to expensive to play here since they just aerated the greens and the front 12 holes were under construction. I feel like they should have had a disclaimer before booking online because the greens were not even puttable and you had to play the last 6 holes 3x to get 18 in. Who wants to play the same 6 holes 3x in a row? The worst part about it was none of the tee boxes were marked and the GPS was off the carts so you had no clue how far you were out. The course has no yardage markers anywhere including the sprinkler heads so it really did make it impossible to see how far you were out since I left my range finder and watch at home. Probably could be a nice course under the right conditions but with no yardage and tee box markings, you're better off just going to the range or somewhere else.
Great course great layout
For this time of year this course is in great shape the greens are magnificent I don't quite understand seeding the bunkers but that's no big deal I have played here several times and during peak season tee times are hard to get I will definitely be back.
Pace of play
Course over books with No use of rangers to keep pace of play up, sometimes up to 4 groups on one hole. The course has an amazing layout, always challenging.
Pro shop staff horrible attitude!!!
Visiting from out of town to play for the first time, I live in south Georgia outside of Jacksonville, Fl.
We entered the pro shop to check in for our scheduled tee time, didn't get the employees name but was an older bald guy, had the absolutely worst attitude I have ever encountered when checking in to pay for a round of golf. If we hadn't already driven an hour to get there, we would have left right then. Course was average, but nothing to worry about going back to play again. We were in the geographical area for 10 days, played several other area courses with much better experience.
Great Course Slow Play
I absolutely love this golf course as it is one of the only courses in the Evansville Area worth playing right now. I believe with that being said that is causing the very slow play at the course. I don't like having to wait 5 to 10 minutes to hit my next golf shot but the last 5 times I've played here that has been the case. Groups in front of you won't let you play through no matter if you are waiting on every shot or not which is very frustrating. Again I love this course because it is challenging and in great shape but be prepared to play 18 holes in 4.5 hours even as a twosome.
Love the layout/hate pace of play
Great staff, great layout, tees and fairways in excellent shape. The only complaint I have with this course is they constantly overbook and are known as the home of the 5 hour round. Because of the number of rounds played on this course their greens take a beating and no one seems to be able to fix their ball marks. This is a great disservice to the course and staff. It is still a "must play" course.
Best Public Course In Evansville
This is such a great course. I play it at least once a week thanks to the deals from Golf Now. Rewarding fairways and challenging greens. It has a nice British links feel. If you're in the Evansville area and haven't played Cambridge, book your tee time ASAP.
Best course in area.
Great course. If the bunkers were in better shape this would rival any course around Evansville. I look forward to playing this course again.
Great Links
This course was in great condition, terrific greens, and a great layout. Sand traps need some work but besides that fun course.
Challenging course
A beautifully manicured course from tee to green. Very challenging. I love the links style, only used my driver twice. I will definitely play here again.
Great round of golf!
Perfect course conditions, well manicured, friendly staff! Pace of play was extremely slow on back 9...
Always a great experience
Beautiful course conditions, great price and friendly staff. This course rocks!
Great Links Course in Indiana
If you like to play links style golf this is the course for you. Playable par 4's, easy par 3's, and challenging par 5's.
Not impressed
Gps didn't work. Never found any markers on the course. No way to check distance. Halfway house was closed on a 95 degree day and the vending machine didn't work outside the halfway house. Very unprofessional.
Good round
Some of the fairways needed to be mowed and the greens where slower than I would have liked, but over all nice course.
Cambridge Golf Club
This course is consistently in good shape. This year is no exception. With the deals you can get on Golf Now, this course is a great value. Greens are in great condition and roll smooth but not too fast. Fairways have been well manicured and are in good condition. Keep in mind that it is usually fairly windy on the course and it plays a very European-British Open style. This is one of my favorite courses in the area and I always look forward to playing it.
Early season round
The course has some work to do to get back to their normal good condition. It was apparent that they have been working on the early season problems.
The greens were a little slow and the fairways were just growing in from the harsh winter.
Overall, good for early spring.
