Nice course
The course is pretty nice,. Layout is not great with several blind tee shots on the back 9 and a stupid 90 degree par 5. Lots of overgrown brush and trees impacting sight lines on some holes. Pace of play was dreadful with no enforcement of golf etiquette. The starter saw me playing the back tees on #10 and told me to move up. Little did he know I was even par on the front 9 and I never even played here before. How about enforcing pace of play for those who need guidance and leave good golfers alone.
Prime carnage....
One of the hardest courses around and she's in prime form now. Greens and fairways are firm and fast, rough is thick and bogeys are everywhere.
Great Golf
Great course layout and conditions! Staff are phenomenal. Only downfall was pace of play caused by a large group in front of us.
Ready for 2026 season...
Coarse is in great shape going into the 2026 season. It's going to be a challenge and a half when it gets into the summer season.
Such a shame
Course has an amazing layout. It’s a beautiful course and each hole is unique and distinct. Unfortunately this course is full of players with terrible golf etiquette. Pace of play was brutal. Players spend too much time looking for balls. Ten to 15 minutes delays every hole. What makes this course great also makes it unplayable for me. Had a great time really enjoyed my time spent here. If I could get first tee time I’d play it everyday.
Fairways are terrible
I have played this course before and I was really bummed the condition the fairways as well as the greens. The money spent could have been spent on less prestigious course. The greens were cut unevenly and fairways looked diseased.
Challenging but fun
Some tough sloped fairways, difficult to hold a good shot at times. That being said, will be back to see if I can tackle those few issues.
Scenic challenge
A fun and challenging course, however a lot of target holes, where laying up is a must.
Very fun challenging course
Course was very well maintained and loved the hillside fairways. I played on a Monday and no ranger that day. Foursome infront of us added an extra 90 mins to our 18 holes. For a course of this caliber, it should have a ranger everyday.
Not a good experience
Played this on a Friday morning in September as part of a package at the Oglebay Resort.
Took close to 6 hours to play the Jones course which I had played previously.
The layout and conditions were just okay, but they jam too many players out there and made no attempt to speed up play.
Between the 6 hours here and the beyond horrific condition of the Crispin Course which we played the following day, it was not a good experience
My group of 8 guys will never be back and will tell people to avoid the place.
