Loreto Bay Golf Course

This is such a magical location right on the ocean within a wonderful community but the golf course owners have let it completely fall apart. So sad. They shouldn't be in the golf business and have either no idea how to maintain such a wonderful track of land or they just couldn't care less. And the staff obviously couldn't care less.

The course is in terrible shape and they can't even bother to fill the ball washers with water. That takes such little effort at such little cost and yet they go dry. I would also like to comment on the clubhouse service but I can't. I can't because there is no clubhouse and there is no service. What could generate additional revenue and improve the overall experience has been given as much attention as the ball washers.

BUT the biggest problem is that the golf course is irrigating the course with grey water pumped in from the nearby town of Loreto. A very commendable effort to reuse water in a desert environment. But is it grey water? It sure doesn't smell like grey water. Again so sad and another reason these owners should not be in the golf course business,

This course is in such a spectacular location and given the lack of competition it could be very viable, world class, revenue generator. Especially when partnered with the Loreto Bay Resort and with an international airport just 20 minutes away. Such incredible beauty and potential wasted.

They refused to accept GolfNow reservation completely. Wanted to charge me full price. The place is falling apart and didn’t see anyone playing. Rude employees. Worst golf experience ever. Had to pay for a taxi $70 round trip. I decided not to play. A total waste of my time and money. GET THIS COURSE OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM.

You get there and somebody had cancel the reservation.

They do not let you play if you were prepaid, unless you pay the green fee directly to them

I arrived expecting to use the round included with my hotel stay, and they refused to honor it. No clear answers, different staff giving different explanations, and zero effort to resolve the situation.

What’s worse is that I later found out there were available tee times on GolfNow (Monday morning), yet they still wouldn’t honor either the reservation or the hotel rate. There is clearly no coordination between the golf course, the hotel, and booking platforms.

On top of that, GolfNow still charged me $56 USD for the reservation, even though the course did not honor it. Completely unacceptable.

To make things even more ridiculous, if I wanted to play at that moment, I had to pay in cash only. No credit cards accepted.

Overall: poor management, disorganization, and very unprofessional service.

The course may look nice, but the operation is a mess.

I won’t be coming back.

Course was 5/10. Putting greens were pretty great but other than that the course was alright. In US this is a $60 course all day. No food or drinks available at the course. Staff was super nice and friendly just didn’t know about GolfNow.

Just like Pebble without the trees, rain, snobs or english. The Tecate was cold, my game was hot. I recommend it for anyone visiting Loreto who hates fish and loves golf.
