Great Course for Beginners
I'm a beginner and this course was perfect for me. The fairways were wide open and very forgiving. There were enough bunkers and hills to make it pretty challenging as well. This was my first time playing a long course and using my driver and I actually shot a lot better than I thought but on narrower fairways I'm sure I would have lost 3 or 4 balls in the woods. I loved this course and will definitely play here again.
Best in the state
The greens are consistently the best in the state. Might not be as fast as the lower 48 on the stimp meter but roll true and you can read the break. The tees are getting better every year. The fairways are ok but still as good as the rest of the state. The food is excellent. More than just a hot dog at the turn. And the staff is friendly and helpful . This is a must play for any golfer coming to this state.
Best in the state
The greens are year after year the best in the state. They may not be a 13 on the stimp but they roll true and the break is readable. Tee boxes may need a little work but they get better every year. Fairways are what you get but you can normally play from them without bumping the ball to find grass. The people there are great and the restaurant is exceptional with more then hot dogs on the turn. Price is better then most courses in the state. Best there is in Alaska. You will enjoy the the course till you get to 18. The toughest par 4 there is. Enjoy.
