Coming Along
Longhills GC would be difficult to walk as many tee boxes are far from the last green.
The greens are pretty good but many have foreign grass knots that do not appear to have been treated. The fairways are underdeveloped and needing some TLC. The grass is sparse and cut very short.
Carts and pro shop were fine. But, there is no food or grill available.
Overall, the course is OK but not as good a value as the many public courses in the LR area.
I’ll be back!
Wonderful staff, experience, and course, I will return again! Ed—the staff member who greeted and helped me—was more than friendly, accommodating, and helpful! The course was challenging and well-maintained. The pace of play was just about perfect, even on a busy day. Everybody was respectful of each other‘s time and play. Be ready for some challenging angles to the hole, but well worth the time if you are trying to improve your game. With friendly staff and a fun course, I can’t wait to get back there.
Awesome course, one of the staff needs help!
I always enjoy playing at this course. It’s got a great layout, it’s a lot of fun, and it’s got some challenge to it. I love it so much that I took my friend there who is a novice to the game. As a novice, it takes him a little longer to play. For most of the day, we were the only ones on the course. And no one was behind us, so I didn’t think that there was an issue with letting my friend take a little longer. Everything was fine until we went to turn in the cart at around 4:30 and the closing staff member came at us with a passive aggressive attitude, commenting that it took us 5 1/2 hours to finish the course, and just being an all-around jerk. I should’ve known he was going to be a problem because when we pulled up prior to playing and I mentioned that we may be the only ones playing because of the cold weather, he said “good, because I want to go home anyway.” I’m not sure why he doesn’t like his job, or what his definition of customer service is, but he may want to find a new job. He finally walked away and let us put our stuff away. It wasn’t even an issue of us being the last ones on the course, because somebody was behind us by a few holes at this point. I’ll go back to this golf course, but hopefully this guy isn’t there. The young man who works the counter is awesome, and Michael is great.
Will be playing here again!
I was the first person off for the day! Loved just playing. Finished in just under 2 hours and shot a 76. It is still improving but as good as many of the other public courses in the LR area and much less expensive and not crowded! The layout was good. Did not see any bunkers. Greens rolled well but did have dead dirt spots in them but the holes were cut to avoid them as much as possible. I liked it so much I booked it again for next week.
Keep your customers happy and think about getting less expensive membership
Keep the Customers happy and treat the young regulars well also less expensive limited membership would be nice .
Friendly staff and good value for the money.
For the money this was a good course to play. I will play here again in the future. A few of the holes can be quite challenging depending on pin placement.
Yardage markers
Very friendly staff. Lindsey management needs to put yardage markers up and repair so.e of the greens from the initial remodel. There is no way to tell how far you are from the green once you're off the Tee Box. The tee box markers are also wrong. Hole number 14 says 354 from tee box to center of the green and I drove the ball almost off the back of the green.
Great staff
The staff at long hills is better than that of a PGA course!! Me and my buddy's enjoy playing at long hills multiple times a week and every Sunday!
Extremely friendly staff. Grounds crew works hard to keep the course maintained.
Longhills
I play there probably 4 times a week and i love the course. The staff is amazing and they even have a teenager who knows how to run the entire place and probably would if he had to. I think that this course is getting much better as the time progresses. I have been told they are thinking about holding a stroke play event as a club championship soon may want to call and figure out what that is about.
Enjoyable
Greens are slow due to the newness of them. Think they are 9 months old. Hoping to continue to get better, cut, faster. Some tee boxes could use some softening as hard to get tee in the ground. It appears work is in progress for improvements.
Longhills on the way back
Changes since addition of apartments is noticable on holes 5-9, but does not change the simple layout philosophy. I saw some complaints about the lack of fairway yardage markers, but with the various free smart phone golf GPS apps, there is little to be concerned about. Several holes of back 9 wind through the very nice houses that are beyond Longhills' swimming pool. Course provides lots of opportunities for birdies when you hit a nice drive, but if you want to use more of your clubs, teeing off with a "lesser" club can provide a different approach. Bermuda fairways are nicely mowed. Hitting it under the trees, near out of bounds will introduce players to some red clay patches where grass doesn't grow well because of the tree shade. Greens are firm, roll smoothly, but most could use some TLC. I'm sure the course superintendent would welcome the addition of some sand bottles on carts to fill iron divots. Regular rates for both cart & walkers are reasonable, but the more than 50% saving offered by GolfNow tee times make the decision to play Longhills. For those who played Longhills under the management of Jeff Hamm or Bill Martin, you ought to play it again - at least to reminise the good old days & support the continuation of public golf in the Benton area.
Worst golf course in central Arkansas
really poor layout ,the fairways are like hitting out of the rough the greens are in horrible condition. Extremely overpriced for what you get ,save your money and go play in a cowpasture you would be better off

This is an biased comment by someone who obviously was out of position on the course probably in the trees where there is little grass and doesn't understand how hard it is to get good greens fast
Needs work
The course has potential, but the greens are horrible. I think in a year or so if they put the money into the course like they did the apartments it will be a really nice track.
Course Layout
Staff was very nice and pace was awesome! Tee boxes need work and yardage signs are incorrect..... the holes yardage are much shorter. Also no fareway yardage markers which made it tough for us to select right club.... it's a Must! Course not included on app Map Tracking.
Reopen of a public course needed in the area
The course has been renovated and re-opened by a company that operates a regional chain of apartments with associated golf courses. The greens were mostly in excellent shape. The front nine fairways/rough are in need of attention; which is where the new apartments have been built. To be fair; the fall season is partly responsible for the front nine issues of debris. Holes 5 through 8 are new so the original layout is mostly the same. Pace of play may get affected with heavy usage due to close proximity of some greens/tee boxes with the redesign. The company's other regional courses are well maintained; so eventually this will be a fairly decent course. $34 to ride on weekday; $44 on Fri,Sat,Sun; before sales tax. The company has been a good local steward by leaving it as a public course and offering to continue junior golf programs from the past. Very little water and not a lot of sand. The original course didn't have a sprinkler system so there is not dense turf on the fairways....meaning tight lies. Pro shop staff were very friendly. I will play it again at the weekday rate which is fair for the area. Almost $50 for the weekend rate is too expensive for the layout and quality. I would give the course a 4 rating if the price stayed around $35 for weekends and they clean up the front nine fairways/rough. Fairly easy to walk and the walking rate makes it a better value.
Mystic Creek Experience Stay & Play Package

You are talking about Longhills Golf course right...
The course gets worse by the day. The entire staff only seems to be good at sitting on their butts because that's all you see when you walk in. Me and my wife were told to wait a minute by an old man watching tv. He made us wait until a commercial came on before he would help us, then he said we couldn't go out because the course was about to close. (It was 12:00 and sunny)
We came back a week later trying to hit a couple range balls, but they were out...
What kind of a golf course runs out of range balls.
