Great Course for Beginners and Casual Rounds
If you're not looking for tournament-level conditions and difficulty, a casual fun round at Airport National is just the ticket for you.
With 27 wide open holes for a good price and decent conditions, there's not much to critique for this style of course. Only one par-5 out of the whole bunch and lots of par-4s that are driveable for the longer hitters, playing here can make your score look great or if you're a newer golfer, it can make the game feel a lot less intimidating.
I was traveling from out of state but wish I had a course like this to take my non serious golfer friends to!
Perfect Hit and Giggle Course
Airport National is billed as fast, family friendly and fun golf. It will never win any best of awards, but it's good for what it is, which is a short course, with very few penalty areas, and forgiving tee shots.
The pace of play is fantastic at Twilight. We tee'd off at 6:30 pm and finished 18 holes by 9 pm. We played a couple of bonus holes to hit 20 for the night. The staff was really cool with us playing so late.
One caution to anyone playing Airport National is the holes run really close together, so some care has to be taken to be aware of what is happening around you.
I definitely recommend Airport National for a quick, fun round with buddies or family.
Shorter 18 hole, uphill battle
The course here is super short (no par 5s in the first 18) but has a lot of holes where water hazards and/or steep uphills/downhills make every shot count. If you're a consistent shot, you'll run through this course with ease, but one mistake can cost you your par/bogey and ruin your score.
