Lake MacBride Golf Course

Very hot day but had a great time. Golf with some great people I met at the course.

Men’s urinals needs dividers no one wants to see another man privates.

We had a good round of golf but the staff were not familiar with GolfNow and I had to argue with her that a cart was included in my purchase. Ended up having to show her the app with my receipt and she finally gave me a cart key but wasn’t happy about it. Then she just walked away and didn’t say we could go or if there was a starter or anything. Very unprofessional. So if you go make sure you have your receipt!!

Lake MacBride is another fun and interesting 9 hole course in Eastern Iowa. Located minutes from the Cedar Rapids metro area, Lake MacBride offers a layout with rolling hills, wide tree-lined fairways and large fast greens.

The best aspect of Lake MacBride is the greens. They are large and slope mostly back to front with several mounds and hollows making for very interesting and challenging surfaces. Our group quickly learned that getting above the hole meant you had to be very careful to avoid three putts.

The course isn't overly long, which makes it fair and playable for all skill levels, and also walkable. The fairways have plenty of width to accept slightly wayward drives, but big misses will find tree trouble.

I will definitely be back to Lake MacBride in the future.

My favorite hole is the par 3 6th hole. At 180 yards it's plenty long, and the volcano style green makes the tee shot very exacting. And if you miss the green you're left with a tricky chip to a wild green!
