Rifle Creek Golf Course

Started our golf game at 10:00 am and their maintenance crew was mowing all over the front 9 holes and had one maintenance guy spraying on the course with some type of liquid.
One of the holes on the front nine was covered with leaves and you couldn’t even putt.

This course is located at the base of some beautiful hills. The pro shop staff was great! I wondered why she asked if we were playing 9 or 18 holes. After our 18 hole round, I understand the reason for the question. The front 9 is a bit quirky (you must drive 100 yards back up the 2nd hole to reach the 3rd tee) and sort of lulls you to sleep with generous fairways and small greens in very good condition, although the greens are canted so having a straight putt is rare. Once you arrive at the 12th tee, there should be a sign similar to the one on the first tee at Bethpage Black which says "the next 5 holes are for highly skilled golfers who are playing very well today"! The 12th hole is uphill and wide open but if you miss the green either right or left, you will likely lose your ball. The sign between the 12th green and 13th tee says "Amen Corner" and they are not kidding. The 13th and 14th holes are indescribable and have to be seen to be believed but suffice it to say...."hit it straight or lose it!". The 15th is a beautiful short downhill par 3 which brings you to the 16th, a 90 degree downhill dogleg from an elevated tee which requires an excellent drive to be able to see the green. When I picked my ball out of the hole on #18, I felt like the course had TKO'd me!

This was the 1st time playing Rifle Creek. We had heard others say it was a course we should try because it had a really great setting in the mountains and “some pretty interesting holes”. After playing the front nine and throughly enjoying all that it had to offer, we then ventured onto the back nine., Wow! After a few holes, things started to really get interesting starting with the 13th hole. Elevated Tee boxes with tight fairways and challenging greens! Back nine was like a different world than the front but what a blast. Staff was welcoming and friendly and green fees were reasonable. Would recommend to everyone - We will definitely be back!

We loved playing this Rifle course!! It was super stunning and well maintained. The price was incredible compared to a lot of the other mountain courses we’ve played and the staff was very friendly. Amazing views around every corner and just enough challenging terrain to keep you interested. Highly recommend it!

Enjoyed a beautiful day of golf on an excellent, well kept gem of a course in Rifle. Staff very helpful and friendly. Greens in excellent shape and views on back 9 are spectacular.

Hard to find your ball even in the fairway with dandelions covering the course. Beatiful and fun back nine (but also covered in dandelions) . Friendly staff and great grill.

Course was being soaked on all the fairways. Chips dug into muck. Drives would plug.

On our annual father/son golf outing, we were looking forward to a round at a course we had never played. When booking the tee time we were advised that the greens would be aerated. We were okay with that having played with those green conditions at other courses. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the back nine was under going the aerification, and therefore was closed. We played the front nine twice using the men's tees for the first nine, and the tips for the second effort. All around, a good course and round.

Fun. Great views. Only thing that stood out as a slight negative was the LIGHTING fast greens. If you didn’t hit the cup it was goodbye ball. I would definitely come back

We only played the back nine which had many
different elevation changes tee to green. From the tee on some holes you had to know your carry distance to properly place your ball. It was not always necessary to hit driver off the tee to get the proper placement. It was an enjoyable morning playing this nine.

We played July 4th and had a blast. The views are incredible, the clubhouse staff were all super friendly, and the course was a good challenge for all of us. I will be back, even if I have to vacation out here again to do it. We saw views and wildlife that were as beautiful as anything we saw on a 2-week CO circle and we never left the course.

For $20 Hot Deal you cannot beat it... Views and clean are worth the $20 bucks alone . throw in golf...

Love playing this course! Great views, good flow but man those greens sure are fast!
