White at Tunxis Country Club

It was so nice spending time with my friends holiday morning.

Relax and great waking, good exercise for me.

Great course too bad I had some nerds behind me besides that all good.

Good layout, good conditions. Only note is there is an ungodly amount of goose poop on the course. I get it comes with the territory and I’m not sure if there’s anything to mitigate that, but if there is, I suggest it and you’ll have one of the best affordable courses in CT.

Great course but I’m convinced there’s some sort of vortex snatching up balls. It’s probably just the ridiculous rough, but it makes me want to blow a gasket... gourde is in amazing condition for how dry it’s been all season. Not to mention it’s mid November.

We had a tee time for a foursome at 9:30 am. It was raining and the forecast showed rain continuing all day. They did not close the course and were allowing play without carts and therefore would not issue a raincheck. Golf Now would not credit my charge card but they did give me credits for future play.

Played in November and the course was in pretty good shape. I would definitely play this course again.

Perhaps cause it’s late in the fall, but very holes have markers to tell distance if you don’t have a range finder. I just want to know generally how far to hole is.

2020 has been a strange year due to the "virus" and courses have had to do different things but Tunxis seems to have missed something along the way. They lost their long time pro and I am not sure who actually runs the show anymore but on several occasions now I have gone to play and there is no Starter, with people doing whatever they want though mostly considerate, and certainly no one monitoring pace of play on the courses. This latest round I found myself in a threesome that became a fivesome because the group in front of us decided to drink and do shots on the tee box every other hole after they hit their tee shots. Mind you I don't care if you enjoy yourself as long as you consider those around you as well. We had the twosome behind us join us as there were two more groups backed up behind them. We watched these knuckleheads go to one ball at a time, after they found them, to hit their shots. Our five waited on every tee box and every fairway, nobody from from Tunxis around to ask them to pick it up. The result was a midday 5 hour round when we should have been able to get around in under 4 hours. And while other course have been able to figure out limited food service, Tunxis has kept their venues shut down all year. I like Tunxis for a casual round but I hope next season brings some change back to the way it used to be.

played the white course on a beautiful sunday in october,so i knew going in that the pace of play would be slow, so they get a pass on this. course was in good shape, greens were a challenge, as they looked as though tiny land mines had exlploded dirt , sand and tree sphegma all over making putting a experience. i would play this course again, however, i believe there are better courses around to play for the money they want..overrall, a 3 star experience all around.( did not rate amenities as none were available due to covid.)

Wonderful course, challanging, nice layout, and well taken care course! I love playing here not only for the views and well maintained greens but it is affordable for all...I typically walk so $39.00 is an exceptional price to pay for walking 18 holes. I've played the green and red courses here also and enjoy them just as much. The white seems the most challanging in my opinion. Hole 17 always has me digging to crush the ball over the water...be weary!!

Wish the beverage cart was out though ..could of used a cold adult beverage but im sure covid has something to do with that.

Holes are generally nice and long but the course wide open allowing you to spray and recover if needed. Layout is done well where you literally come off the green and go right to the next tee box for th most part. Also, if you’re in a cart, there’s freedom to roam, which really helps. Tee boxes and greens are kept in good shape by the staff.

I’ve played Tunxis many times in the past and yesterdays round was so bad for pace of play I won’t be returning anytime soon. Every single hole on the Front White Course no lie we had 3 groups waiting on the tee. It was so bad even though my son and I paid for 18 holes we had to walk off the course. No excuse for play being this bad
