Top 20 courses in New England according to Golf Advisor reviews in 2015

It's a golf season that is all too short, but the courses of New England shine from early summer until the last leaves fall from the trees in this often idyllic part of the Eastern seaboard.

The top 20 golf courses in New England draw from the six states that traditionally make up the region: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Courses must be 18-hole (or more), regulation-length layouts to be eligible.

This year's ranking was compiled using overall and subcategory ratings throughout 2015. Click on each course page to view detailed ratings and review information.

Your kiddng right? Raceway is a dog track. No Brookline, no lake of isles, no redtail....you couldn't pay me to play half this junk

Red Tail is No. 3 on this list. Brookline & Lake of Isles are a little more exclusive and didn't receive the amount of reviews needed to qualify. Re: Raceway, one reviewer wrote "it gets better every year" so maybe give it a second look if you're ever in the neighborhood.
