5 hour round
Tee time draw placed out group after a VERY slow foursome. Multiple conversations with the ranger resulted in with no assistance which was what was frustrating. Greens were not in the best shape of the season either - hopefully just tired after a long season and all improves quickly…
Nice surprise
Conditions good, greens quite fast. Glad to have bee paired with a long time member. Will definitely go back.
Very nice public course
Oak Hills is a very well-kept public course that is a good value and always seems to have nice people working there and a nice group of golfers
Nice Condition No Aeration
Didn’t play very well this week; but didn’t let me ruin the day; needed to get out. Oak Hills still in top condition; especially greens which were rolling nicely, The only negative was the presence of coyotes on the course. Realize there’s a herd of them living in the woods; but geez, why can’t the state relocate these creatures to a more remote area?
Always a pleasant day...
Got teamed up with two young men who hit it miles. One could flat out play. Like driver 5 iron on 500-yard par 5. Nice guys. I'm over 70 but still scratch. I played the forwardish tees they played the blues. Five birdies later I had a 68. However, it didn't seem I was playing the same game as them. Getting old sucks. Course is kind of sneaky. Front 9 narrow and slightly odd. Greens are as good as it gets for a heavily played public track. Great restaurant. Friendly golf staff, even if they are a little rigid in their cart rules.
Has to be the best public courses to play in CT.
Greens, tee boxes, aprons, fairways, and over. All landscaping in wonderfully manicured conditions.
Staff is eager to assist. T times are on schedule and speed of play is managed.
All around great experience.
Number 10, the ruff is tough. Hit the fairway!
Great course, great value
Another enjoyable round at this great public course. Wish round was a little faster but course was in great condition.
Beware the ranger!
Beautiful course that you would not expect hidden in Norwalk. Very interesting layout with very fun holes. There were some ranger and pace of play issues I had experienced. Overall great experience.
Short course but challenging
The ranger was not very nice. Spoke to us harshly not taking into consideration that we had an elderly woman in our group. Was going to speak up if he came back around with the same attitude. Confrontation shouldn't be part of a golf day.
Pound town
Not sure why all the mixed reviews on this course..I love it here. Hope others continue to hate so I can continue to play any day I choose with little or no notice. Bravo Oak Hills👍
Pound Town
Great course..if you think you are a pro go elsewhere we are here to play golf some better than others. If you are in a hurry go to a private club but if you want to play and enjoy yourself with others this you will enjoy❤️ pace is hood but course is difficult so sometimes can be slow to a certain group of golfers🤷🏽♀️
Great all around experience
Great all around experience from the personable pro shop to staff and grounds keepers. The course is also a nature center with exceptional views, challenging fairways and fast greens. Restaurant staff also did not disappoint with hospitality, service, food and drinks. I am looking forward to my next round.
Good Course
Good course to play with lots of variety and elevations. Some holes are challenging but not overly difficult. The greens are very fast and in great condition.
My only complaint was pace of play on the day I played. There were too many slow groups ahead of us and it would be good if Rangers pushed groups a bit more. The staff there are terrific and I understand they are trying to make it a good experience for everyone but that doesn't work when some players are excessively slow making it frustrating for the groups that follow.
Greens are Excellent
Greens are excellent.
Tee boxes are great.
Fairways are good.
My only complaint is the price of a cart is too high.
