Connecticut's public golf scene is small but mighty.
GolfPass releases a Top 15 Public Golf Courses in Connecticut every March thanks to YOU. We create our annual Golfers' Choice lists by curating the reviews submitted by everyday golfers. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages.
Each course needed at least two reviews and at least some public access to qualify. Many local public courses feature tree-lined fairways, natural obstacles and spectacular carries, while being kept in great shape.
We make our Golfers' Choice best-of lists user friendly. Simply click on the photo of each course to learn more about the facility or to book a tee time (in most cases).

Oak Hills Park Golf Course
Green fee: $56-$86
What they're saying: "For a public course this is got to be one of the best in the State of CT. Start with the staff - perfect, friendly, and insightful. This course is very well maintained and I have played some of the big name courses. Spot on markers, greens are challenging for first timers, and tee boxes are level and perfect. The course won't beat you (up) but I'm sure your find some challenging shots. Oak Hills is named for a reason. Great experience all the way around. I suggest you DoAwalkTHRU" - PaladinGR1 -
Gillette Ridge

What they're saying: "From tee to green, the course was in great condition. Lots of nice green grass, fast greens. It was a very windy day so lots of leaves was the only negative. Really cool layout with lots of club selection. Definitely one of Connecticut’s best public courses. Can’t wait to play it again" - GolfPass Reviewer -
Quarry Ridge Golf Course
