For the price of a round and being a muni course - sure it’s okay. But man is this place a free for all. You could show up and see nobody, or you could wait 25 minutes after your tee time to even step on the first tee box because of the line of people waiting to tee off. Pace of play is horrifically slow, and there’s no one there to regulate it. Grass is dry, greens are patchy. Used to love coming to get some practice in as it’s an easy course to navigate, but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze here anymore. Save your time, play somewhere else.

Very helpful staff and a great place to walk nine and work on your game. Improvements are underway and hope this course is on the upswing. T in the pro shop is great!

Staff SUCKS
If you’re a beginner and are looking to get into the game for cheap, this place is perfect. Other than that, stay away! The staff is horrible there. Always super rude and never accommodating. The act as if they’re running a 5 star country club. This course is a small 9 holes and never in good shape. I booked a tee time on Memorial Day weekend and surely enough their tee sheet was WIDE OPEN (that’s how you know this place stinks). I called the morning of to request that they slide our tee time back an hour, being as their tee sheet had no one else on it. I was told that was impossible since my reservation was already paid for. It made no sense whatsoever. Guy on the phone must’ve forgot he didn’t work for augusta national. Avoid this course unless you’re on your last leg.

Nice course for a quick 9.
My golf partner and I squeezed this nice little course in while on vacation. Quick paced round. Small but with some challenges. Fair amount of water.

Lots of Water!
This course in that there are multiple places to lose your ball. The water is a factor in plenty of shots so play smarter. I had a good time on s crisp fall morning and it was beyond my expectations.

This is a nice little 9 hole golf course. Keep in mind you’re paying about $20 for 9 holes…so don’t expect great conditions. Tee boxes and fairways are rough…greens are slow but other than some ball marks well maintained. That said, for a high to mid handicap for the $ it’s a great layout to work on accuracy. Almost every hole has OB, water or trees in interesting places that protect greens - so it’s a real game improvement type course.

This guy has it so wrong,
1) When you get a hot deal from Golf Now WE CANNOT CHANGE THE TEE TIME.
2) Pomperaug is a very nice 9 hole course in great shape that is busy most of the time.
3) Look at all the other reviews and you will see we have a very polite and professional staff.
4) This beginner needs to take a look at himself and learn how things really work before he tries to trash any course.
5) I hope he enjoys playing elsewhere because we can live without people like him.
6) Come play Pomperaug and you and the 100's of others that enjoy the course and love the way they are treated when they come back over and over again.
