Worst golf game ever
There was a group of 8 that yelled us off the green a few times and making rude remarks that we went ahead of them 2 times. We did a pit stop for some food and drinks at the club house and we came back, looked to make sure no one is teeing up at the moment then 5 mins later the folks behind us they were screaming us up and down to hurry up off the green because we went ahead of them. We put in a request for a ranger, 20 mins passed and the ranger never showed up. Then much later a ranger driving by and we waived him off. We complained about the situation and they are aware of this group that books sometimes there and causes issues. He left it as 'I'll see what I cann do cause I got nothing, you got all the weapons and stuff,, really highschool level staff. Second staff we complained to said about the same thing that they know the group to cause issues but wished us a good day. So basically poorly trained staff, a course that allows repeat troublemakers to cause issues and quite frankly the course looked bear up for $79 a round. So all in all bad customer service, poorly managed course with anger management issues folks roaming around.
THE SOFT ROCK
I played this over two days because of a rain delay. The course was maintained very well, even for this time of the year I would say awsome condition. The price was good going through golf now.
I cant say anything bad about this. Every time I go back it seems as if they did something better or nicer. I looks and plays great.
Thank you golf now for helping me return to e great course for a reasonable price.
Too expensive
The course is always in good shape, but its also always packed and slow moving. I go when I can get a deal on golfnow but its wildly overpriced otherwise.
Not Worth the $$$$
When this course was completely renovated a few years back, it was great! Greens were fast and firm, thick rough, and resilient fairways. To some it could have been considered up to the standard of some country clubs. The biggest downside was the pace of play. Obviously with large crowds rushing to play the redesign it was understandable.
Now, the course is a disgrace! I am baffled that people are continuing to play the Rock with there conditions. The greens are BEYOND scattered with divots and very soft. The fairways are beat up, but yet the rough is still somewhat high.
Yes, the Rock is a municipal course, but they have all of the facilities and have a difficult time trying to pull everything together. I Would NOT place the Rock unless it is at twilight when the price is cheaper.
Course was in great shape
This track was a real treat we enjoyed the challenges and will definitely play it again.
Beautiful course
Course is nice, challenging and staff is very knowledgable. A little pricey.
Some good holes, nice length
Course is ok, fairways and greens are not the greatest. I know it's a municipal course, we had the 1st tee time on Saturday and every green had dozens of unfixed ball marks. Very rough...not a bad course but NOT worth $69!!
Great place for a round
Staff was super friendly
Carts include GPS with yards to pin
Course had some fun challenges
On premise putting and chipping areas as well as range
I would absolutely recommend Rock Manor to anyone
Great course for the money. Public yet plays like a private CC
Greens were next to perfect, GPS in all the carts, and great cart paths.
Challenging course showing signs of many rounds
This course can jump up and bite you on more than a few holes. #4 in particular is a 530 yard par 5. The tee shot requires a 200 yard carry over brush and forward tees, to a slight dogleg right. The remainder of the hole plays uphill to a well bunkered green that slopes away from you. Reaching in two is only for the longest of hitters. Par is an excellent score here. The green complexes are well thought out and some pin placements can make a two footer scary. There is a good mix of risk/reward par 4's with a drivable par 4 on each nine. The issue here is that the greens and fairways are really starting to show the effects of a large number of rounds of play at the end of a season. The greens showed way too many ill-repaired or unrepaired pitch marks, making already challenging putting downright unfair. Even though the course provides divot mix, it's clear that the regular clientele does not take the time or the effort to use it. Some fairways were really worked over and pock marked. Excellent and friendly staff and the GPS on the carts was accurate. Until the conditions improve, I would recommend trying Brandywine Country Club just a few miles down the road.
great course for the price
If you can play this course for 40 dollars it's a heck of a deal... the fairways are cut down and in great shape, the greens are receptive but fast and it has just enough turn in it that it makes it challenging all the way around.
Well kept, nice layout
Not super long, but a fun course nevertheless. It's fairly flat, but the woods, streams & hills that do exist are incorporated nicely. Most of the course is links style, with opposing fairways running alongside each other. Greens, fairways & rough were all well maintained. The pace of play was a little slow, mostly owing to one group ahead of ours. The staff was helpful and attentive to our requests. I will play here again.
