Length 7411 yards
Slope 139
Rating 74.7

Buffalo Run Golf Course is a locally acclaimed 18-hole, municipal course in Commerce City. The links-style layout covers 7,411 yards from its longest tees with a par of 72. Designed by Keith Foster, there are challenging elements such as water hazards and bunkers that come into play on the course. The wind creates difficulty on this golf course. Buffalo Run Golf Course's front nine is less challenging than the back nine but it builds up good practice for the second half of the game. One hole to note is the demanding 13th hole. It is a par-3 that has a well-placed bunker near the green.

greens were great, fairways and rough were in poor condition

the fairways were in poor condition having areas that were uncut 3-6 inches and other areas that were bare and the rough was 6-8 inches.

The cart lady was nice and friendly.

Gone Down Hill

The tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in good shape. The rough was HORRIBLE. Burned out and dead in a lot of places. It was either 5 inches long or totally bare. The bunkers were also a joke. They were basically clay. And the rough around the bunkers was just weeds. I literally lost my ball in a thicket next to a bunker that was partially washed away from rain. I should have documented this with photos.

Greens were in great shape. Big improvement from 3-4 weeks ago. Some areas of rough were awful. They’re starting to rake traps which is great.

cruel & unusual

Par5, you tee up nicely and you hit your 2nd toward distant 150 marker. Ball lands rather nicely at about the marker. You rush toward to your ball thinking you are going to 3 on and then make a par at least. None sense! You get to your ball only to find yourself in deep rough. What the fxxx! You are in the middle of the fairway, right by the 150 yard marker, but it’s not a fairway. What! How do you explain this! It’s like someone forgot to cut the grass for a while. It’s cruel and it’s unusual.

Course was lush

Course was in really good shape considering all the recent rain. A few days of sunshine and it will be amazing. Had a good breakfast in the clubhouse before playing.

Many better places to play.

I was the second group to tee off in the morning. The course is in very rough shape. There is a lot of off course construction happening. The group ahead of my group were horribly slow. Called the club house to get support from a ranger and we were dismissed. There are way too many courses to play to return. Disappointed as it is close to my house.

Changing Landscape

I found Buffalo Run a course that would be suited for beginners but not for those that have a monster hook or slice. There are a few holes where I think houses are too close to the landing area from the tee shot. Also a few more holes will soon be engulfed with new houses.

There will still be a few key places where the hole 's backdrop will be the Rockies , so not all is lost for those wanting that feel. The greens were aerated 4 weeks ago and look very very good. The sand traps are well kept and fairways are above average. The boxes can be a bit rough, but that is always the least concern when you are teeing up the ball anyways,

Pace of play was 4 hrs 45 mins for the round. We saw a Marshall making the rounds a few times but there was no change to the pace of play on this day for the two groups in front of us. It was a perfect sunny day with light winds ,high 77, so very tee time was booked. Worth a play, No one hole stood out to me, but I enjoyed my play minus the slow play.

Mediocre first time

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cart girl is non existent. Be prepared bring a cooler or can be a long day. The pace of play is very slow due to a tougher course

Great course

The course was under some maintenance and the greens had just been punched but it was still a great place to play and I look forward to coming back later in the year. Very friendly and helpful staff.
