Fun course in great condition
Highly recommend! Luckily, I live close to this course and get to play it often. The owners are a local family and this course is in great condition. Love the mature trees, fast greens, hills and lack of houses.
Hidden Gem
One of the most beautiful courses I’ve ever played. With rolling hills and dog leg challenges, makes me wish I lived closer. Candidly, I played the day after a massive storm so I didn’t have to be concerned about pace of play that other people report. I will say, the course conditions after the storm were incredible. Whomever it is managing the course should be managing a professional course. I can see why the pace could slow down. With the elevation changes, you simply cannot tell where the players are in front of you at times. You’re just not sure if you can tee off. There are risk reward holes, attempt to cut corners and it may pay off. If I lived closer, I’d play it every day.
First time out 2026
Course was in pretty good condition. Weather was great. Pace of play was a little slower than expected. There was a group in five in front of us in a group of four in front of them so it really kinda bogged the rest of us down.
Course is well-maintained and provides some good variety. Fairways were good, rough was a good and playable length, and greens rolled fair. I paid online and even though it said cart was included, they made me pay an extra cart fee at the course when I arrived. Still good value, but something that needs to be ironed out.
Great Course
I love Byron Hills. This course offers a nice variety of holes. Challenging, yet a fair test.
Bang for the buck!!!
Great little course. Well maintained, and family friendly. Only complaint would be the lack of driving range. The greens were fast, and the beers were cold!
real nice course pace of play bad need a ranger 5 hrs to play 18 holes real bad
Byron Hills after long absence
Nice course I used to play often. New management is doing a great job of keeping up and improving. Most of course in great shape, greens showing the tough weather and lots of play but putted good despite appearance. A fivesome was holding up 5-6 groups lined up behind them with 2 holes open ahead of them was frustrating. Always friendly and welcoming
Inside staff
We made the turn at 5:40 pm went inside to order refreshments and the young girl informed us that she had already closed out and would not serve us. It was the hottest day of the year and we were under a heat advisory, there is no water available on the course. There were other players on the course and she had to wait for people to finish, so why not have the clubhouse open. We have played the course numerous times and service has always been excellent.
