Mow the grass
The course has a fun layout, however the grounds crew refuse to maintain it in a playable manner. The rough is so thick if you are 1 foot off the fairway it is nearly impossible to find your ball. This leads to slow play and if you should mention it to the greenskeeper he threatens to throw you off the course. The general staff are awesome and have no say over the conditions. It is a shame because they have invested a lot of money recently and the facilities are nice.
Executive course that you keep the driver in the bag except for a couple opportunities. Greens in great shape. You will enjoy it
There had been a lot of rain, so I’m sure the course would have been in better condition if it could have been mowed.
Nice, easy par 3-4 executive golf course
Nice combination of par 3 and par 4 holes, making it challenging but not intimidating to newer golfers like me. The downside is the rough was "rough" as in the grass was longer than I prefer. The back 9 has a couple of considerably sized water hazards, but manageable. Overall a nice course I wouldn't mind playing again.
The Golf Now app makes this course an excellent value. There are only 5 par 4 holes and the rest are par 3, so a lot of short fairways, which made us get a little bunched up. We had to wait for the party ahead of us to clear the green before we felt we could safely drive. The rough was a little long, considering how small this course is. We are beginners and we got through this course in 3 1/2 hours. The pro shop staff are always very friendly and accommodating.
Met up with a few members and got in their skin game. I had a great time and won a couple bucks.
Had a great time
Canterbury green golf course is a fun quick play that you will enjoy.
This course is a par 59 for 18 holes. I used my driver once but might have been 3 holes that it could used on. Excellent for working on irons and short game.
Course was not well maintained
I booked 18+ cart for this course through Golf Now yesterday. I got to the 1st tee box and the course looked awful. The fairways look like they hadn't been mowed all month and were the same height as the rough. There was essentially no fairway for a number of holes. #1 was so bad I hit 2 balls right down the middle of the fairway but since the fairway was so tall I couldnt find either one and had to skip the remainder of hole #1. Fairways that they did mow they left a lot of grass clippings. I only played 5 holes before I decided it wasnt worth it to continue playing the course in that condition and left. I know its early in the season which can make it tough to maintain a course but I've never seen one in that bad of shape.
Course is good for working on iron shots for mid th long irons and throw in a couple fairwood shots. I enjoyed it. Pace was fairly quick and the greens in good shape.
This course was not maintained
Booked 18+cart with golfnow for this course. I arrive to the 1st tee and could tell they had not mowed their grass. The fairway was the same length as the rough. I drove my tee shot straight down the fairway but could not find it because of the length of grass. In spots where they did omw they left so much grass clippings that it seemed like I was playing from the rough. I only played 5 holes because the course condition was so outrageous I did not want to continue. I know its somewhat early in the season but that was bad today. I will try to upload pictures.
