Golfer Reviews
Devou Course is great
I love playing this course. It does play a little hilly all the way around, but it is the hills that make it challenging. If you are just learning to play I would recommend playing a different course, but for intermediate golfers and above it is a great place to play.
Hills...oh those hills!
Very good test of golf! Deep cut rough and many chances for hitting from side hill lies leads to a challenging round. There are some dramatic elevation changes and blind shots here that can be punishing ! Tough to walk! This course is set in a beautiful park with bluffs overlooking downtown Cincinnati and Covington. Friendly staff, fair pricing, a good place to play!
Horrible condition
This course was in awful shape. The fairways were brown with bare spots all over, and there were drainage problems on just about every hole. I don't think anyone fixes there ball divots on the greens. I've played this course before but I will never play it again. Don't waste your money...
Good course, close to city
Even though we had rain for the entire back 9, we still had an enjoyable day of golf. The good: fairways and greens were beautiful! Perfect grass. Watch out for Hole 4; it's a killer.
The bad: clubhouse from the 70's and smelled like old smoke, cart paths in serious need of attention. Carts were dangerous for the hilly terrain; electric carts with electric brake, so when heading downhill and coasting, the back wheels lock which puts you into an immediate slide. Saw several other golfers skid onto two wheels while on cart path because of the downhill braking thing. Could also use a little more groundskeeping. The important parts, though, (fairways and greens) were good.
Great fairways, perfect greens.
This course is short and hilly, but in immaculate condition. There is not a better public course within 500 miles, and I've played them all.
Challenging - target golf
Greens punched week before play and not yet mowed made putting very difficult. Cart paths in disrepair - many "off-road" type experiences.
Some beautiful holes and views of downtown Cincinnati.
Devou Park Golf Course
Devou is a beautiful and challenging course. It had been years since I last played here, but glad I did this last week. The greens and fairways are in great shape for late summer. I will say that the cart paths are in moderate disrepair and the clubhouse needs major renovation. Still a great value course overall...
Great Fairways...poor Cart Paths
Great course for the Money........Nicely Maintained and really fun to play.......Best Fairways I've EVER seen.......... the Zoysia grass is Insanely Lush and really well kept........Outstanding playability!!
The course was challenging at times.
Having a tee time at 12:48pm should not mean that my group should start our round at 1:30pm. I understand a golf scramble was occurring, but waiting an extra 40 minutes for my round is not something I was particularly pleased with.
Beautiful course and view of city
Course and greens in great shape. Not a long course, but tight.
Excellent established course
Always enjoy playing here, friendly, helpful staff, the course is in great condition when we played, and the greens are a pleasure to putt on, fast, but true.
Great Day of Golf at Devou!
We had a great day of golf at Devou today! Course is in great shape, greens were immaculate. Somewhat challenging, but a lot of fun. Beautiful scenery and views of cincy and the river. I would recommend playing now while the course is in such good shape.
hilly
Very hilly. Very fun to play. Short par 4s. Drove the green a few times. Fairways require attention. All are dead. Easy to hit off of but doesn't look good. Great view in Cincinnati. Overall a great time and experience.
This is a difficult course for me.
The course was in great shape this year. It is a difficult course for a player without a lot of power and questionable accuracy.
A very challenging 6,100 yards from the tips
Staff was great at pro shop & concession!!!
Course was in excellent condition for this late in the year & the little amount of rain we have had in the area.
Course is very challenging as you very rarely have a flat lie other than the tee box.
Dont Play Here
I have avoided this course for many years, but at the request of my brother-in-law I gave in and we played here. First off they had the back 9 closed, and I was not notified about this via golfnow.com so that was troublesome, the fairways had not been mowed, nor had the greens. Playing here just reconfirmed my decision to never come back.
