Rough Friday!!! Photo submitted by BC21 on 10/05/2012
Great at first glance, but…
…the extremely hilly and wooded layout, while pretty, is just unpleasant to play. It’s also not well maintained, the greens aren’t great, and the cost is too high for the quality. It’s in a very beautiful community and the clubhouse, pro shop, and restaurant were quite nice.
tees and many fairways in bad shape
The tee boxes were awful (like, chopped up, mud/dirt and uneven stances...they clearly haven't changed the tee area's in weeks). Several fairways were basically mud/dirt in a lot of places. Greens were fairway length. It's taken a dive since the prior pro left for Kenton County. It's a hackers paradise. anyone good won't play here, but I live close and my sister was in town and wanted to play.
Average
The views on some of the holes are the best part of this course. Otherwise it's like they just wedged in a course on a plot of land. Very hilly & tight. Not exactly hard but if you don't hit it straight, you'll lose your ball. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were ok. Not worth $50.
Visiting Cincinnati
So I did my research and read all the reviews of the 10 best golf courses in Cincinnati. This course came up and the reviews were decent and the price I thought at the time was right. I’ve been playing golf regularly for over 15 years now and am an average player. I’m sorry to say but I have never been so disappointed and dissatisfied with a golf course in my entire golf playing experience. The course was not at all what the reviews had said it was. I’m ok with a narrow challenging course and was expecting that but the course was in terrible condition. Instead of grass and green fairways it was mud and brown fairways. The grass around the fairways was extremely high making it nearly impossible to find any ball not hit on the marshy fairways. The greens were so dry and slow that i needed a mallet to putt. It was like playing polo. The pace of play was so slow that we left after 14 holes and 4 frustrating hours. There were twosomes and foursomes all over the place as if no one was counting golfers and putting groups together to speed up the course. The so called concession stand or clubhouse had one person working and no food that I was aware of. I would never play here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Even an expert golfer would struggle on this course.
Great Course, Terrible Pace of Play
Always love coming here, great course with great views. Can be tough for beginners but still doable. Pace of play was bad today. Heard there was a frost delay but it’s winter golf, why do that when it’s been raining here the past two days and the whole course is soaked? Kinda confusing but overall a good time!
Love this course. Great place to play close to Cincy.
Course is definitely a challenge and even for the off season the course conditions were nice. Very hilly which makes for a challenging day, but well worth it. Staff was nice and easy to ask questions to. Will be back for sure.
Autumn Golf
The course was in excellent shape with the greens quick and nicely trimmed. The fairways well maintained for late fall!
Excellent Autumn Golf
I was able to play 18 in 2.5 hrs solo in cart. The greens were phenomenal for this late in the season and the course in great fall shape.
I was able to play quickly, and with decent consistency. The views on this course are simply breath taking as you overlook the city of Cincinnati.
Thanks for having me. I play here a fair amount and will be back.

Keep in mind that THIS IS MUNICIPAL COURSE! That being said it is one of the best experiences I can recall in my 48 yrs. of golfing.
The greens rolled well, the leaves had been blown to the tree lines and the views are spectacular! The carts are a little dated but have USB charging ports and the paths have some rough spots but there have also been improvements made where needed most.
It is not a long course so be prepared to leave the driver in the bag and play 'smart' golf off the tees which were in pretty good shape considering it's very late in the season. Severe elevation changes and slopes in fairways and around greens.
The staff and facilities are excellent and the gentlemen I was paired with (Tim & Bob) topped off a fun day on a fun course.
I will definitely play again, even though it's a 90 minute drive to get there.
Course was very hard and lacking grass due to dry weather. Greens were being aerated at the time so that was a challenge. I would love for some maintenance on the cart paths as they are very rough.
Great helpful staff
