Golfer Reviews
Not for the faint of heart
A well kept, challenging short course. The sheer design of this course adds to the challenge for the average golfer…you better be able to keep it in the fairway! I was constrained by time or I would’ve played 36 holes on this beautiful day.
First time
Great time for our foursome, awesome elevation changes, tight fairways, soft greens, nice clubhouse, friendly staff and atmosphere.
Some close tee boxes to fairways and greens, had two close calls with rouge tee shots almost hitting us.
Well worth the drive from Columbus to enjoy a challenging round of golf with spectacular views of the city
Dry, rough fairways, so-so tee boxes
Firstly, the course is beautiful with the scenery.
However, the course was very dry, including the tee boxes which were hard and had lots of sand on them.
Fairways were cut terribly with the mower lines dug-in the ground in a lot of places on a handful of holes. Fairways were decent size but again, dirt showing in a lot of places.
Greens were browning in spots and were slow. Maybe they didn’t cut them low/normal due to the lack of rain recently so they wouldn’t burn them up?
The staff was extremely nice however during check in and during the turn when we grabbed a burger. Golf-carts are electric to that’s an added bonus for my liking.
I’d be curious to see what the course was like with some more water on it however in the future. I’ll be back at some point I’m sure but will ask a few friends who play here regularly first about the conditions prior to booking.
Great at first glance, but…
…the extremely hilly and wooded layout, while pretty, is just unpleasant to play. It’s also not well maintained, the greens aren’t great, and the cost is too high for the quality. It’s in a very beautiful community and the clubhouse, pro shop, and restaurant were quite nice.
tees and many fairways in bad shape
The tee boxes were awful (like, chopped up, mud/dirt and uneven stances...they clearly haven't changed the tee area's in weeks). Several fairways were basically mud/dirt in a lot of places. Greens were fairway length. It's taken a dive since the prior pro left for Kenton County. It's a hackers paradise. anyone good won't play here, but I live close and my sister was in town and wanted to play.
Average
The views on some of the holes are the best part of this course. Otherwise it's like they just wedged in a course on a plot of land. Very hilly & tight. Not exactly hard but if you don't hit it straight, you'll lose your ball. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were ok. Not worth $50.
