Mere Creek Golf Course
Mere Creek Golf Course was originally built as a nine-hole course at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, reserved exclusively for military personnel, veterans, and their guests. The course is now open to the public, offering a challenging but fair test for all skill levels. The holes are somewhat lengthy, which can prove to be tricky off the tees, but the approach shot is more straightforward. Good placement on your first shot and a good drive will guarantee success on almost every hole. The course is far from being flat but it is still an enjoyable walking course. It is great for beginners and casual golfers looking for some practice before taking on a tougher golf course. The casual atmosphere and affordable rates add to Mere Creek's popularity.

Maybe avoid weekends
Very slow play today which is compounded by those making the turn on this 9-hole course. If pace of play isn't an issue for you and you want a course that is very good for beginners, then you will enjoy the layout and course condition. Bring bug spray for holes 2-5.
Nice track for most skill levels
Steady stream of golfers, including many retirees, play daily. Pace of play remains good because most play the shorter tees, but course is a decent challenge from the tips for lower handicap golfers.
I arrived at course office to check in and was told I could go right out. I asked the woman at the desk about the key for the cart. She said, you need to pay an additional $10. I explained that it was included in the “Hot Deal.” She said the rate you paid was a walking rate for 9 holes, I then told them the Hot Deal was for 18 including the cart. She agreed I could play 18 but needed to pay for the cart. Rather than argue, I said I would go to my car and get the money. Before I left the building, I opened up the GolfNow website and the offer of the 18 hole with a cart, for my time, this morning, was still available online. When I showed her the website she was flabbergasted and said this was not their intention, but being very professional she said she would honor the “Hot Deal.” Obviously, they need to organize their offers through GolfNow better in the future.
The course was in nice condition, though very wet from the dew and muddy in places from recent rains. The pace of play was perfect, as a few people had me play through as a single. I played 18 in a little over 3 hours and ironically, had my best score for this course.
Kudos for the staff for the appearance of the course, the mowers totally stopped when you were in an area they were working on. Lastly, I appreciated them living up to the details of my reservation!!
Probably one of the worst courses I have ever spent my money on.
I spent over 50 bucks to play at this course and I am disappointed in myself that I didn’t turn around once I entered the parking lot. Terrible customer service right out of the gate. Then, they failed to mention they didn’t have 18 holes but instead just make you play the front 9 again, but from the blue tees. You can literally get a par on their longest hole using a sand wedge. Not to mention the ground is literally concrete. I couldn’t even put a tee in the ground. If you’ve never picked up a golf club, you’ll love this course. The cart fees are so expensive that everyone walks, giving you at least 45 min per hole. I had to skip the last 2 holes because I was gonna be late to a dinner reservation that I thought I would be able to make considering it was 6 hours after my scheduled tee time.
Good course for beginners
Mere creek is a friendly 9 hole course with many short yardage holes and open fairways. It’s heavily trafficked making it somewhat of a grievance getting done quickly. Most of the people that play the course are older and move slowly. Staff is nice and approachable. Only down side is price compared to other competitive courses in the area.
Mere Creek is a great beginner course, as well as for people who want to golf without the major obstacles that bigger courses have. I wouldn’t pay the normal price of $23 to walk 9 holes, so this deal is fantastic.
Good little course.
Staff was excellent. Friendly and accommodating when we were slightly late for our tee time. Course was busy but moved well. No complaints at all.
Nice nine hole trek
This course offers challenges and play for golfers of all ages and abilities. Walkable if you choose ,with a friendly staff, inside or outside choices to sit and enjoy beverage, snack, sandwich or burger. Range tight behind clubhouse and a friendly knowledgeable trading staff with lessons for kids and adults make this a great choice for locals and mid coast Maine visitors alike.
Left with out playing
There were 6 foursomes stacked up in front of me at my tee time. I left without playing.
Need to do a better job of scheduling and pace of play.
Nice nine hole tract
Course was in great condition and provides interesting challenges for all levels of play without being intimidating.. Friendly staff and both indoor and outside options to enjoy food and beverages add to the overall experience..
