Eighteen Hole at Hog Neck Golf Course

I will get right to the point. The worst pace of play I have ever witnessed. 20 minutes between holes and two groups of more waiting to tee off on each hole. It was comedic and pathetic actually. At one par 3 there were three 60 plus year old not golfing but hanging out on the hole drinking beers. At hole 14, a ball rolled near my cart as I’m standing in the middle of the fairway waiting for the green to clear. You get what you pay for! You want garbage, okay here. You want quality, go to Hyatt Chesapeake Bay. I don’t mind bad golfers, but bad etiquette is truly missing here. At one hole, I watched three guys drop two to three balls in the middle of the fairway and a fourth place their tee in the fairway all staring at each other. I’m not exaggerating, and I do not give bad reviews on a whim.

This is a good Golf Course on the Eastern Shore. The fairways have filled in nicely. The greens are in great shape. They have an Executive 9 hole and an 18 hole championship course both of which are in great condition. There is also a putting area and chipping green with bunkers for practice.

Course in decent shape although a bit swampy after the rain the evening before. Was surprised greens were firm but very slow. Overall decent track would have play better without rain night before

I played with another single. We played through a foursome on 11, and cruised to a 2 hour and 50 minute round. The course looked extremely busy thereafter. Early = MUST!

The course was in good condition for the wet weather this year. Most fairways drain well and the greens are good. It was cart path onlly and this is good to keep the course in the current conditions. After 9 h10 holes it poured, we continued through the rain finding fairways waterlogged and greens very good. I am a H.S. golf coach and play many courses during the course of the year. The groundskeeper is doing a great job!

Loved the layout of the course. Conditions were a bit spongy due to recrnt rains but overall great experience

Really rained night before. Course was soaked and restricted to cart path only. Good condition overall. Greens were true. Nice day and great value through Golf Now. Will be back next trip to the area.

Heard about this course for years and drove by it many times on way to beach. Extremely nice staff and great experience. They have aerated the greens recently and should be an even better experience in September.

Participated in the HN Ladies Inaugural Invitational. Great tournament--well run, wonderful attention to details, and very nice event. As for the course, I have always liked the layout of this course with many risk/reward holes and some easy-scoring holes. I haven't played here in years, though, because the conditions have been rather poor. However, I must say they have clearly been working on the course. With all this dry, hot weather, their Bermuda fairways should have been lush and green--they weren't, but they were a little better than

average condition. The only real burnt out sections were in the rough and primarily in cart areas, and under or around trees. The greens and bunkers were excellent--the bunkers looked like brand new white sand, and the greens were fast. The one thing I always remember about Hog Neck are the approach shots into the green...many of the approach shots are to slightly elevated greens. If you hit the apron, you will get no bounce forward, and the elevation adds distance, so club up one. This is a really nice tract, and they are working to bring it back to good playing condition. It's still worth playing and will challenge you in a variety of different ways.

This is a great course for folks that enjoy 9 holes in a short amount of time. The course is in excellent condition. I play this course weekly and would not change a thing. The facility is very nice and the staff is tremendous. Good golf and good people, can't beat it! Playing this course or the 18 hole course is worth the trip.

An interesting course with a Jekyll and Hyde front and back nine. The front is open, with water on 8 holes. The back is tree lined with tight fairways. The biggest issues I have are pace of play. As a muni there are often numerous golfers who have little or no experience, and are not familiar with etiquette. It took the group in front of us 15 minutes to play the first hole! I'm also not a big fan of Bermuda grass, especially in the dormant season, which here is very long. Government employee staff treats you like your at the MVA.,

Course was in decent shape.Good pace of play for a weekend round.

What a nice place for a round of Fall golf! This is a Muni worth taking the long way home to play. Instead of coming home from OCM up the coast, I took Rt-50 and swung West about an extra hour or so on the way back to NJ. Very glad I did!

Loved the tee boxes! Very soft, perfectly level, grass was thick and plush. I was impressed with the overall balance of the layout, one of the best parkland courses I've played. Bunkers, hazards and trees are all in play.

No slight of hand, it was all right in front of me. All I had to do was play it. Put up a good front nine then pushed too hard on the back. Would like to have a few of those back...

The course upgraded the tee boxes and fairways to Bermuda grass a couple of years ago and both areas are thin. Some fairways it was difficult to find grass to place your ball on. We didn't pay much for playing so it compensated for the course condition.

It is a challenging course however the fairways need some major work.

Been awhile since I was at Hog Neck. Always enjoyed playing there. But this time was the best. Course is in great shape. The greens were smooth and fast despite recent rains.
The staff is about the friendliest you will find anywhere.
I will get back before the winter closes in.

Myself and many senior golfers play your course frequently. This course is a challenging, fun place to play and the staff is very friendly.
