Oakland Golf Club

Played a day or so after a heavy rain so we expected it to be wet in places. As it turned out, most of the fairway was not short grass, which meant that every shot felt like a shot out of the wet rough. I lost about 8 balls that should have been findable in the fairway. We ended up quitting after 14 because with CPO in place, this resulted in what would have been a 5.5 hour round and probably 20,000 steps (with a cart) made up mostly of searching unsuccessfully for your ball.

The grass was too high in the fairways and the rough. The mowers need the blades sharpened.

Course was nice. Beautiful setting and a great value. They were out mowing all day and I have to say that they were the mowers I’ve ever encountered. Not the operators but the equipment itself. They apparently don’t believe in sharpening the blades. It looked worse after they mowed than before.

Course was soaking wet from all the rain. Crew was out working hard on bad spots on green. It s a great layout and will be in great shape as the season goes on.

Tough course for guy used to playing in Florida. Hilly,

Small slow greens with lots of slope. Fairways were very sloped and chunky. Never get a flat lie. End of season

Condition but fun to play

In as good of shape it's been in. Some greens and fairways have issues, but 90% of courses do in a 100 mile radius. Worth $45 if it isn't packed. Pace of play was an issue on back 9.

I have played this course many times. This summer has been hard on the course with a lack of rain. The greens were decent, but not as fast as they normally are. The recent rain and cool nights should help. Tee boxes had not been mowed and fairways were spotty. I was a single so I cannot complain about pace of play, but there were 2 fivesomes in front of me. Not sure how that happened. Looking forward to the course's recovery.

almost hurt my back riding cart on fairways. never seen or played bumpy fairways in my 25 golf years. no distinction between fairways and rough. I don't think I will play here again.
