Braintree Municipal Golf Course

This is the kind of course I enjoy: moderately wide fairways, plenty of trees for shade, easy to walk, nice views throughout. I didn't know what to expect, and I was very pleased with the experience. Fairly well secluded, so it doesn't feel like you're playing in the city/suburbs.

We had a twilight time and only played the front nine, so I'm eager to play all 18.

As with all courses during COVID-19 protocol, the course conditions were excellent and the pace of play was perfect. I'd be interested to know what they are like in normal times.

Greens were recently aerated but were still reasonable for roll & speed. Fairways were still in good shape. Nineteenth hole is better than most & staff everywhere were great. It might have helped if the ranger had actually moved people along though. Front played fine but the back 9 was insanely slow.

Great round for mid November...conditions fantastic other than the greens which will probably be pretty much the same until the spring...nice concept of maintenance by the superintendent to insure that the greens are taken care of rather than risk chance of trying to spike with the monsoon like conditions everyone saw in New England early this past year...especially a place like Braintree where the water table is pretty high to begin with...Cudos!!!

Great little Municipal course. Layout was good, greens were in great condition, especially for November. My only hinderance was that the website showed course aeration on November 5th, so we booked the 4th to be able to get in 18 before then...and aeration actually started that day.

Slowest pace of play ever, group in front kept pulling their carts across the greens, embarrassing

Absolute as nice a course condition wise in the area. Staff outstanding as far as Pro Shop, Ranger, and Grounds Crew. Have done so much over the years to make this a place to frequent as well as a destination. Nice variety with a great and picturesque finishing hole. Back side definitely the harder of the two nines. Perfect...Thank You Braintree...everyone should play here...I wished I lived here!

Good condition but poorly run. Staff unorganized and the ranger was not only useless but rude which blighted an otherwise good day at the golf course.

Enjoyed the round. Very few bare spots on a few greens, but overall course is of excellent condition. Course is fair but the par 4 are long but some greens are huge. If your driver is not deep, a bogey will have to do. Fall rates are a steal for this track!

lot of big puddles in fairways other than that it was good.

Greens were heavily ball marked and something that effectively killed off large sections of the green. It was mostly around the fringe but a few were in the middle of the green as well. The non damaged parts rolled well. Fairways were in decent shape and tee boxes we’re a bit chewed up and uneven. A few tee shots had the ball above or below your feet. Overall a good deal for $30 walking.

Good luck. Took us around an hour to get through every 3 holes. Ranger does nothing.
