It's not often I put a divot in the green, but I took the complimentary tool and low and behold I needed it! Photo submitted by O2GrampaThom on 10/05/2019
Unexpected challenge!
Myself and three colleagues have an annual match and chose to play here. We were impressed with the overall challenge of the course, even though the tee boxes and fairways were in need of attention. When we finished our rounds we went to their restaurant and enjoyed great food and drink. It was a great day and looks like we have a new place for our annual match.
Good experience
First time playing the course and I'd go back again. Overall the course was in good shape. The fairways were in good shape, greens were in very good shape, but the tee boxes were in sad shape. A few had no grass left, but when they did it was the height of the first cut or rough. Hoping that the recent change in management might be the reason it is not in optimal shape. Another perk is the restaurant and Tiki Bar. Good food and a beverage after a round makes for a good day!
For the deal, it was a great option.
Course is in rough shape in some areas, while i understand it is at the end of the season, i feel this course has great potential. Greens were slow but nice.
The course was very poor. It is not maintained well at all very poor.
Rough grounds but excellent amenities
This was our first time playing here, so maybe sometimes it’s better conditions but the tee boxes and many fairways were extremely hard, rocky and in some places just gravel. A few tee boxes were moved to the reds because ground condition was too rough and everything was so firm your ball just bounced for days when it dropped. The other players here were inconsiderate and we ended up being backed up 3 groups by the 8th hole. I will note we did receive a discounted rate through golf pass which helped but had we paid full price we would have left very disappointed. On a positive note the pro shop, restaurant and tiki bar were very nice and the food and drinks were excellent.
Hillside is not a well maintained coursse
The fairways for the most part are good. Several are very rocky. The tee boxes are awful. Poorly maintained, bare, rocky, had to use a club to get my tee in the ground. Greens are super slow.
Not recommending and not going back.
Walkers who played double
We were behind two walkers which is fine! But they both kept playing two or three balls each hole so it not only held us up but everyone behind us. The course could also use some serious maintenance. Last year and year before that it was great but seems to have gone downhill.
Price is right, keep expectations low.
I've played here a ton, each time it seems like the course conditions are deteriorating.
Great course
My wife and I enjoy playing this course. Many of the golf paths need corrective work and some fairways could use TLC. Not being great players, this course allows us to play our type of golf.
Hillside
Fun course. Always play it when I return to the area. Not Augusta. Some tee boxes and fairways need work. Topography makes the course challenging.
Poorly maintained; overpriced
The course looks well maintained in photos, but the fairways are not really fairways rather mowed weeds and occasionally grass. We needed to play lift clean and place and struggled to find playable lies.
Course was fairly empty as it was hot, but for $49 with a cart for 18, I can see why. IMO it’s worth $20 for all you can play with a cart.
1 star only because there is no option for 0 or 1/2 stars.
Terrible course
The highlight of my round was a member named Ed who showed me the course and told me where to hit the ball. He was a very nice guy, . Unfortunately, the course is in pretty bad shape. The greens are slow, and sometimes fairways are non-existent. On one holle there was a downslope and the fairway was just rocks. It was pretty awful. Of course some of the fairways are grass, and I realize it's only $20 but I wouldn't play here again.
Why this course has a four-star rating on golf now is beyond me. I assume people are just happy that it's a cheap course to play.
NeedsTLC
Majority of holes are in good shape, however, some tee boxes., fairways and cart paths need improving. This course still allows me to play my game. Staff very friendly
Needs some TLC
holes 2 & 3 undergoing repair. Cart paths in rough shape need to be improved. Once these areas are improved it will be in good shape and a great place to play. Staff is excellent and very accommodating. Looking forward to these improvements
Course in pretty terrible shape
This was my first time playing there and I have to say it was one of the worst courses, condition-wise, that I’ve played on. Most of the fairways were rubbish and the 3rd hole fairway was essentially non-existent as they’re attempting to reseed practically the entire thing. Greens weren’t much better. Bumpy and sopping wet in some cases. Not returning here.
Needs TLC
Not being a great golfer, I am satisfied with playing this course. It definitely needs TLC on most of the holes. It provides me with opportunities of using all of my clubs. Will return.
could have been better
When we arrived for our tee time, there were no carts and I had specified I was riding when I booked. The worker was very frazzled and gave me anxiety just listening to him on how busy they were and they didn't plan well. There was a group of 4 that slowed down the entire day, it took us 3 hours for 9 holes. The course was nice but the real gem was the Tiki bar with live music outside facing the golfcours.
Course has a great bar and patio
The staff was extremely nice and easy to deal with, and the putting green was in a great shape ( small but great condition), the first tee and fairway were in good shape. But after that the tee boxes were rock hard and could barely get a tee into, the fairways on most holes had big weeds growing in the middle of them and made for tough approach shots from fairway, paid 38 bucks for 9 holes and I definitely don’t feel like I got my money’s worth.
