Well maintained
Great location, in the heart of the city. Fairways very well groomed. The course is fun to play easy on us older folks.
Do not go unless you want cheep golf for a cheep price.
Course conditions were terrible. Staff was not friendly and didnt help at all. Greens and fairways looked like they hadnt been cut in a week and the pace of play was painfully slow. Woulf not recommend.
Tyler, Sorry to hear that your trip to Idyl Wyld did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately we did have a pretty heavy rain the Monday evening before your round so much of our usual mowing may not have been complete by the time you played.
Our staff does track the start and turn times of all groups and they have you marked as playing your front 9 in 2:01. I'm sure playing as a two-some this seemed slow but it is right on what we expect. This data point is all I have to go on so if its not correct, my apologies.
Hopefully you will try us again and find the course conditions much more to your liking and we can find a time that is not quite as busy.
Thank you!
Not bad
Course was a little wet but not bad at all considering all the rain will definitely play again
Thank you for your review Muntz. We have been working to improve the course drainage. Glad to see it is working!
Nice place got good deal
Will play again a lot of little water hazards Near my house
Thank you for your review! We hope to see you back again soon!
Nice little course
Not as warm or sunny as we wanted, but not too bad. Overall the course was in pretty good shape, and well maintained. People were out blowing the leaves from the fairway, while others were collecting leaves with their equipment. The only negative was the aerated greens, but this is typical in the fall. We enjoyed the 18 holes.
Distance accuracy required
Nice little course. Not necessary or recommended that you use a driver on every hole. You need to be in the correct position in the fairway to score well and to hit the small greens.
for what it is
As courses go in metro Detroit, this is among the worst. But that's the reason the prices are so much lower and it's so much easier to get a tee time. We went there because it was last minute and it fit into our limited time window. The course wasn't great, but it was nice to be at a place where, on a weekend morning, we weren't waiting on every hole. There were rangers on the course checking on pace of play and helping groups along to look for errant tee shots, which we don't see all that often anymore. If you're a beginner or if you're playing for the first time in a while, this would be a good choice for you. When I say I would recommend it, it would be with all those caveats.
Fast greens!
I had a great time p[laying at Idyl Wyld this weekend. The course is in very good shape, the greens are well groomed and fast. There were some areas in the fairways where there was water damage but it was not difficult to play around those areas.
Very good value for the money!
An old favorite
I grew up playing this course as a junior golfer and have played it a million times. I was genuinely impressed at the course's condition, especially when compared to the "better" Livonia courses (Whispering Willows). Pretty short and definitely geared toward the more casual golfer. A great place to get out and hack around for a few hours.
This course needs a lot of TLC
Weed City. Smelly water ponds. Dandelion s in the fairways. Bad direction to next hole. Not worth the money!!!
no water or restroom on course
considering the extented winter we had I wasn't expecting a well manicure course, hoping for a little more than average. Signed posted there is no water on course, also no restrooms or porta johns.
Thank you for your review! We hope to see you again soon!
