Diamond in the rough with a fun wooded layout
I’ve driven past this course countless times, and am glad I finally stopped in to play. As much elevation change on a course as you’ll see in the Midwest. Definitely has the “up north” wooded feel, and every hole was unique and memorable. Course was a little beat up, but didn’t impact play, and at those prices, it’s what you’d expect. Will definitely be back!
Up North Feel; Right down the road
This course can really feel like a “Up North” Michigan golf course. Lots of elevated tee boxes, elevated greens, and some beautiful sceneries. The layout of the course is a 10/10 for the given landscaping. Starting on the first hole and on, the course feels like an adventure. Different views between each hole and comfortable cart paths add to the experience. Elevated tee shots into fairways that do demand some accuracy, but still very playable. Elevated par 3s into tame greens make these fun holes to play. The greens were not terribly challenging with the pins in the front, but felt and rolled true. For 32$ for 18 with a cart makes this a great value. I found myself looking at things that could be tweaked, but also realizing you can’t have it all for 32$, and a more manicured conditions would most likely hurt the extreme value of the course.
This is a very nice layout, however, they have let the conditions of this course go down!
I played this course four or five years ago and it was in much better condition, maybe since they built a new pro shop etc. they don't have the money to maintain this course. Tee boxes and fairways in rough shape on most of the holes. Greens were fast, but not in great shape.
Beautiful but could be in better shape
This is a good course and feels much like a northern Michigan course. Not in the best of shape, but hopefully that will improve under the new ownership!
Course not in good shape
Refused to honor golfnow price. Met with owner who refused to honor confirmation. Fairways were in poor condition. Tee boxes were worse. Don't think our group will return
Nice, could be better`
A very scenic course with a lot of elevation changes. Being from the Chicago area, I don't get that a lot so it was very fun in that regard. A few too many blind shots for the average golfer, and the greens were not in very good shape. Super fast and a ton of old ball marks all over them. The greens really need to be fixed up, but other than that was a pretty nice course that I would play again. Keep in mind I am used to Chicago prices ($60 a round on a Saturday AM) so Its hard for me to rate the value because $45 is a steal from what I am used to.
beautiful holes
We played this course when it first opened and were really looking forward to playing it again. We were a little let down.
It is a beautiful course with awesome holes that appear to be
being neglected. Did not seem like a 5 star course.
Great venue with its great condition and elevation changes.
What a great surprise. A wonderful layout with many elevation changes and doglegs. Tightly mowed fairways, good definition between fairway and rough, and many tree lined holes. Greens were in good shape and fast. I would definitely play it again.
play it more than once
there were some things I would do differently a second time around because of blind shots or sharp doglegs
Nice course with some tougher holes
Played the front 9 twice, and 2nd 9 was more fulfilling since I had a feel for the Course. The uphill greens make 2 of the holes much longer than yardage of course!
Too many blind shots and tricky holes.
Tee boxes need work, the course is ok for $16.00, but I wouldn't pay much more. There are a lot of blind shots. The GPS is very accurate.
WORK IT BOTH WAYS!
Very difficult course if you can't work it both directions, played the front nine from the back tee's and the back from the whites. Hole two had some serious water issues that the course is working on. Very quick greens that roll true. A little surprised that there isn't more of a discount offered, it was a perfect day for golf and the parking lot was only 1/3 full? Made for a very enjoyable round, and the 19th hole is an outstanding place to finish tour round!
enjoyed the variety of elevations.
Enjoyed the variety of elevations combined with some narrow fairways.
Interesting layout
Lots of elevation changes. Interesting course layout on a beautiful property. Greens were in good shape . Service at turn nonexistant. Well marked with in cart GPS made blind shots easier to live with.
Fun course to play
I make the drive down from Grand Rapids a couple times a year to play the Lynx. It's always fairly well maintained and has some of the more scenic holes of any course in SW Michigan. It's not real long but the greens can be tricky--it's not uncommon to face a handful of fast, slippery putts every round.
Can't wait to come back
Unfortunately this course is 2 hrs. north of home so playing it often is not an option. However, it is worth making it apart of a golf weekend. It's "up north" golf 3 hrs. closer :) Course was in rather good condition. No two holes the same. Lots of elevations. The course itself is so interesting to play and female friendly tee boxes I would return.
Great shape for Spring golf
Everything was about as good as could be expected with as much water as we've gotten over the last month. One hole was soggy but that's just nature. Greens were aerated so putting was a bit of a struggle, but again that's a necessary evil for this time of year.
Great couses
Course was in grea condition, however, the rough is VERY rough, make shots from the rough extremely tough. Staff was very friendly. The Lynx is one of my favorite courses to play.
great views
I played this course a 2 years ago it seemed to be in better condition then but it cold be that i played a little later in the year the course is challanging but fair will play again the views are great and are realy great in the fall
