still playing on temp greens on holes 6 & 7. saw the repairs to old greens, looked good they cut them for the first time since repairs. Excellent work by the staff on the mending of the greens.
nice course layout
Course has nice layout. Greens were a touch slow and bunkers were in rough shape. Staff was friendly. This is a nice course. For the price really nice. If they sped up the greens and a little bunker work this would be a very tough course.
Used to be a great course
Was a great course, but is going through a period of neglect.
The course is challenging but fair.
The course was fun to play. An accurate tee shot can lead to scoring opportunities. Some of the greens were in rough shape. Two holes had temp greens in play. They did not mention that when we checked in.
Only real negative was pace of play. There was a “sixsome” playing ahead of us, 2 adults and 4 kids. They caused a back-up that stretched over at least 4 holes. Also right behind them were 2 couples that were obviously not golfers. Males wearing Jean shorts and no shirts.
Hills for days!
First time here, but what a nice layout! This course uses elevation changes on every single hole to make some very nice challenges. That said, there were very few blind tee shots, and you mostly got what you saw. Course was in good to great shape for its age and, while cart paths were deteriorated from age, the greens and fairways were well kept and quite playable.
Rough condition
Clover all over in the rough. Bunker sand hard and more like top soil.
I found out halfway through the front nine that they have 4 temporary greens. No mentioned this when I checked in. If they would have told me, I would have not played.
I drove 15 hours from Georgia to visit relatives and play nice courses in Michigan. I would not put this one under the category for a nice course.

Thank you for playing Lake Doster Golf Club. We see you rate the conditions poor. Our grounds grew continues to work hard through the tough conditions we have had over the last few weeks. We hope to see you again and improve on your past experience!

Thank you for playing Lake Doster Golf Club. We hope to see you again and make your experience better then your last!
Too bad conditions stink overall, nice layout Cant believe seniors qualifiers played here
My buddy paid for this round on tea off.com $32 each. We had driven by here several times and always wanted to play it. I remember hearing good things about it 30 years ago and finally we played it and we did not expect much because we heard the conditions went downhill which was very true. It’s too bad also because the layout is very nice the hills and the scenery are nice and settles in between the homes very nicely. The only thing that is really still pretty good are the greens which are fast and sloped and not a flat green on the course.
It’s really horrible how bad the car paths are with the 30 to 40 year old concrete just falling apart it looks horrible and it’s hard on the golf carts. The tea boxes are atrocious and the sand traps are bad and I can see that the conditions are similar to what happened at Wallingwood in Jenison being it is the same ownership. Well I would say go ahead and play it but make sure you don’t pay much more than 30 bucks the layout is nice but the fairways are average and the tea boxes are awful but scenic why is it is it is fine
Yes and you also probably know that two of the greens are under reconstruction because of some stupid kids riding their all-terrain vehicles across them last year which of course they put up to temporary greens Richard a joke so you can basically rule out two holes there.

Thank you for the honest review of our Club. Our grounds crew continues to work hard every day to provide the best golfing experience possible. We recognize areas of the course that need improvement and hope to address them all. We are doing our best to manage the temporary greens while we work to recover from the damage. Thank you for playing at Lake Doster Golf Club!

Thank you for playing Lake Doster Golf Club. We hope to see you again!
The Doster
Course is well kept except for holes 6 and 7 are using a fake green at the end of the fairway to help the original greens be resurfaced (original greens look fine) . Offer $5 off or notify golfers at check-in
Thank you for playing Lake Doster Golf Club. Unfortunately we had heavy vandalism to our course over the winter. We are working to restore the damage to the greens as fast as we can! We hope to see you again soon!
