Worth the drive
This course is worth the drive. Great value for what you get. It has lots of rolling hills, in fact, in it's' former life part of the course was used for skiing. On one of the holes on the back nine there is even a former chair lift complete with some chairs still hanging on it. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens are large so don't get too excited with a GIR as you still may have a long putt.
I will definitely be back.
NW Michigan must play list.
Manitou is a well kept and nicely laid out course. The greens roll true and on the quick side of the scale. Well placed bunkers are in good condition. It's worth the money and should be considered if you're in NW Michigan.
Bliss
My favorite course in this area.
Great condition. A challenge for all levels of play.
A “hidden” gem
Incredible layout and architecture. Fairways and greens are nearly perfect if tee boxes a bit beat up. You have to remember that these folks don’t have a huge maintenance budget so, adjusting for that, the conditions are fantastic. A tough track from back tees and just a really fun day out. Need to get draft beer back in the otherwise beautiful clubhouse!
Great track!!
Great course and happy I chose this one to play while on vacation in the area. Fairways were great and green rolled very nice…a few more pitch marks than I expected. Tee boxes had a normal amount of destruction for this time of year. Narrow fairways, strategically placed bunkers and lots of elevation change made it as challenging as it is aesthetically appealing.
Solid
B level. Good overall experience. Reasonable challenging. Course condition was good. Layout and design was above average. Would play again.
Great Place!!!
Pros: Course condition, layout, challenge when playing appropriate tees, counter staff, bag drop staff, starter, practice putting green, clubhouse and bathroom cleanliness and a blessing that they DIDNT have a drink cart slowing down play (Didn’t purchase food or alcoholic beverages in the bar are so can’t comment on that.
Cons: Tee boxes are a little overused and beaten up, people do not fix enough ball marks! Not the courses fault, but maybe reminders from staff and posting to fix ball marks and fill divots.
Overall, it’s absolutely such a beautiful piece of property and the staff is genuinely happy you came out.
My buddy and I LOVE this one.
Loved it
Loved the layout very challenging. Greens fairways were very good. Only improved I could see was the tee boxes, pretty chewed up. Overall 2 thumbs up.
