Almost a muni to rave about
When talking muni’s this one has so much potential. Often times when I post hole 7 and it’s gorgeous Southfield skyscraper backdrop to social media, friends will comment “Chicago?!?” or “Where is this?” and it always brings me to joy to reply letting them know it’s just a muni in my backyard. Over the years, especially after beech woods closed, the course has drastically improved. There is still some improvement needed but overall it has changed quite a bit. Looking forward to its progression.
Customer service
The customer service was not just bad but close to awful. The two men there need classes on customer service. I would only play there for the 500 yards par 5
Excellent place for beginners
We had a group of 3 go out. One who plays on a league, one who hasn’t played in 30 years and one who has never played. The course was an excellent place for beginners and novices. Well laid out. I’ve worked in that area for a number of years and never knew there was a course there. It is also a very affordable course. It was a quality experience, we will return.
The gentleman working the counter is not the friendliest but it wasn’t enough to keep us from having a good time.
Staff was rude and condescending.
Only saw Ranger 1x and he did not keep course play at a good pace. Golfers ahead were dancing and gyrating and goofing around.
Front Desk is Rude
Scheduled for 1 player on Sunday. Came 30min before tee time. Advised I have a ride along and offered to pay a fee. Was told by front desk that we are fully booked for 4 players which makes sense. However, when I talked to the ranger, he told me it was only 3 people booked so there was room a for a ride along. Front desk new this and lied to avoid including a ride along even though I offered to cover the fee. Very lazy and shady of him to lie about it. Called him out in front of the ranger and ranger agreed with me. The front desk guy was a fat black guy. Shame on you.
Good city course surprisingly
I have played many city courses in Michigan and around the states, I have to say that the condition of this course is far superior than most. Even though it is a 9 hole and fairly average, 2950 yards from tips, the layout is challenging for beginners and up through upper intermediate players. I have to commend the staff, city residents and leaguers for keeping this course in great shape from tees to greens. It's a little expensive for a 9 hole course but I will definitely play it more often when we have a couple of hours to kill.
Evergreen Hills, Convenient & Cost-Competitive
Evergreen Hills remains an appealing option, given its proximity to the center of the metro-Detroit area. The 9-hole trek makes it perfect for golfers unable to commit to a four (4) hour 'round. Course was in average/decent shape, with the cost appropriate to what you'd expect.
