pace of play
The pace for the course was fine, we were never waiting on the group in front of us , our playing partner (we did not know him) was soooooo slow I felt we were going backwards. The groups behind us were always waiting on us, it took at least 30 to 40 minutes longer to finish 18 than it should have.
Ist time out course in tough shape but understandable, it being so early
Fun course
Got to play in October on day that the temp was near 70 degrees so that made the round that much better. The course itself is fun and has several challenging holes. Has water on the backnine that dds to the fun. I will be playing this course again.
Disappointing
I booked on Golf Now for 18 holes. The front nine took exactly 2 hours to complete as there were 2 groups ahead of us that were playing very slow. The pace of play for 18 holes is 4 hours so we were right on schedule for that. However, from holes 5-9 the pace was getting exceeding longer and there's no doubt it would have been more than 2 hours on the back nine. So I stopped at the pro shop to see if I could get a voucher for the back nine as I would have been late picking up my son due to the slow pace of play. I was told that this wasn't possible by the manager. Clearly, the right thing to do would have been to let me come back another time and finish up my round. Apparently, that's too big of an inconvenience for Monticello Country Club. Well, luckily there's plenty of other courses in the area to choose from. Disappointing.
