Worst Course in STL
You are better off lighting your money on fire than going to this course. $62 for 9 holes with a cart??? This course is in the most BRUTAL condition. Half the greens are dying with dirt patches, the fairways are also half dirt, it’s so bad. They should have to pay you to play this course.
Just don’t….
I played a course that was $12 for 9 holes the week prior and it was better shape than this course. I would say 50 percent of the fairways are dirt on most of the holes. Spotty patches of grass around where you almost had to drop your ball after each drive. The greens were in better shape but they absolutely soaked them prior to golfing. They were so wet the ball was leaving a water trail and holes 6-9 the cup was literally filled with water. It hadn’t rained.
Better than expected
Despite the conditions of the grass on most holes, you could see the effort was being made to fix it. And even though it’s only 9 holes. They’re laid out nicely and pose some good chances to test your skills.
Worst conditions I’ve ever seen on a golf course
This course was in terrible condition. I’ve never seen a golf course in such horrid shape. There were only 3-4 fairways with any type of grass in them at all, and most of that was crabgrass. The course was literally just dirt, no exaggeration. The greens don’t look like they’ve been mowed in a week or longer and they were covered in standing water (we are in a drought right now, so it’s not from rain). Multiple greens were 30-60% just sand or dirt.
I understand courses having trouble staying in good shape this time of year, but this course shouldn’t even be open for play.
The worst part is, they’re still charging FULL PRICE and they gave ZERO warnings on the course being destroyed.
I wouldn’t pay $5 to play this course, and no matter how good they get this course, I will never play there again and I will tell everyone I know about the experience I had.
Not great
It’s an alright layout with poor fairways and greens. It’s very expensive for what it is
Grass is not Green
The Golf is well designed but the grass on the course is brown, maybe due to the weather but it makes it less fun to play on a course where half the course has brown grass.
Needs Improvement
Parts of the course were in rough shape, beyond just issues with grass. The course is run down and lacks supervision. The discount price was ok but full price there is way off base. This course needs someone to take over and bring it up to basic standards. We still had a good time but unfortunately we won’t be back.
Weather challenges in Chesterfield
It’s obvious that the extreme heat and lack of rainfall at the course has affected the fairways. The greens are still in great shape though.
Great weather (finally) with a reasonable pace of play led to an enjoyable round.
I Have To Agree with $10 Course at Best
This course has eaten up with some thing. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in terrible conditions. This course charges more than other nine hole courses but based on its current condition it should be the cheapest course. It does however keep the pace of play nice as no one wants to pay this price for the state this course is in...
At best a $10 course
St Louis has had some rough weather this summer, but I have played many other courses this summer and all have had nice fairways, greens and tee boxes. This course is eaten up with some thing. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in terrible conditions. Can't blame it on the wearher. This course charges more than other nine hole courses but based on its current condition it should be the cheapest course. Not Worth It!
Greens nice, fairways in first 3 holes were horrendous
Overall, the greens were in good shape. And they rolled true. The fairways on holes one through three or some of the worst I have seen in my life. The sand traps were Missouri, mud and dirt, and the collar of the greens were extremely hard. Landing the ball on the fairway was like bouncing on your driveway.!
The staff was very nice and accommodating. And, the parking was reasonable once you find the lot.
First time we played there, which will be the last FOR SURE
Strange Layouts
Played for the first time. Was surprised that hole one was a blind shoot dog leg left. Definitely a strange hole to start out on. Map doesn’t give much guidance so you may find yourself sending it into someone’s backyard immediately. Lots of tee boxes damage when I went, but nothing too bad. The rest of the course was fine. The rough isn’t forgiving here, definitely stick in the fairway. Overall it plays well and is a good value for your money.
