Waukewan Golf Club

September in New Hampshire is always pleasant. The summer crowds are gone, weather is still nice and cool. Although we don’t know two much about golfing options in this area, GolfNow presented this golf course about 25 miles away from where we stay. We decided to give it a shot. It turned out to be a great choice. Not too difficult, course is well maintained and pace is perfect! We had a wonderful time. Will definitely play again in the future.

I love the course and have played it multiple times but Tuesday 8/18 was insane. Played 9 holes in 2.5 hours - no rangers to be found - on the nineth hole there were 5 groups!

Why? The pin placements on 75% of the holes were in spots tour pros couldn't get within 20 feet. There had to be 4 or 5 holes that didn't meet the PGA criteria below:

Distance from the edge: Holes should generally be placed at least four paces (roughly 9–10 feet) from the edge of the green, Level ground: A 2-foot radius around the hole should be as level as possible to allow putts to stop near the cup and prevent excessive rolling

The 13th - also the #1 handicap hole - the pin was lower right 4 feet from the edge on the down slope. I actually asked the guys I played with if I could take an unplayable lie!

Guys - you should be rewarded when you get to a green - not punished! Maybe the greens keeper had a bad night but my god

The course was in fantastic shape , I’ve played this course after rain and a couple of holes were very wet . This is the best condition I have seen pace of play was a little slow . But over all a great day!!!

Very hilly course resulting in lots of uphill/downhill/side hill lies. Course conditions were good. Greens were a bit slow but in wonderful condition. Women golfers should be aware that there are only three sets of tees and women share the senior men’s tees (required a renegotiation of strokes for our friendly match)

Played in perfect conditions. Most of the greens were in great shape but very inconsistent speed wise. The 13th green was a temp a month ago and still should be to keep people off it as it recovers. Besides that, it is a nice track

Really cool layout, Couple blind tee shots and some fun holes and shots! Really nice course

They might have to instinct a pace of play rule now because it always used to be great until you get it a few times now with old people not considerate of their pace or party size or skill.

Too many holes with blind approach shots to the green.

Course was in very good shape. The greens were tough fast

and ball rolled off when hitting green.

Just a nice friendly course in a great part of nh. Well run with a great staff
