1st: Scenery and golf course vie for the starring role at Waukewan. This first green, blind from the fairway, has a hidden bunker behind it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
6th: A tight par-5. Here we look back—across the pond--at the ribbon of fairway where the tee shot lands, for those who prefer to stay dry and out of the woods. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
7th: A masterful 3-par, viewed from right flank. This bunker is out of view from the tee, along with another trap on the green’s opposite side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
8th: From behind green. Perhaps one of the most elegant and scenic par-5’s in all of New Hampshire. It’s also tough. This view faces the tee, which is a long way down the immense hill. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
16th: Another strong hole over a stretch of seven on the back side. Uphill, long par-3 to a perched green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
18th: View behind/left of hole. Pond must be traversed on either 1st or 2nd shot of 4-par: a risk/reward decision. New England scenery, including clubhouse, forms a pleasant backdrop. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

hideaway
Course looks easy, but plays harder. usually cheaper than others in the valley. Never packed, steady paced. In/out around 4 hrs.
Thank you for your excellent rating and candid review. Hope to host you again.
Great views
You can’t go wrong golfing here! Great course, great views, and great fun!!
Good to hear the word "fun" in reviews. Thanks for giving us a try. Look forward to having you again.
nice course
the scenery is beautiful and the course is in good shape. I'd play there again and recommend it to anyone.
Great to have you. The views as of late have been spectacular with foliage and most recently, snow capped mountain highlights. Thank you and hope to have you back.
Hi Lisa, thank you for your recommendations and your 5 star review. Waukewan is a place to behold and your support means everything to us.
We at Waukewan appreciate your review and rating.
Good value for the money
Dry conditions
Airated greens
All in all not bad for the money
Thank you for your four star rating and accurate review. We are now in October and as plush as ever. What a difference a month and six inches of precip can deliver. Foliage is spectacular.
Fun course
Great course, but They need a ranger to move players along.
Hello and thank you for visiting with us and for your four star review. Thank you as well for pointing out the need for player assistants. We have a different crowd of less seasoned players this year and depending on the day, it can be slower than others.
Beautiful scenery; wonderful course
For our level of play, this is one of the best courses we can play. The mix of distances, hazards, and fairway complexity allows us to finish a round with a good sense of satisfaction. We can get through a round without having lost many golf balls. The club is a bit out of the way, but worth the trip. If I was going to join a club, and I lived closer to Waukewan, I would join.
Hey Dave, thanks for a great review and 5 star rating. We at Waukewan work hard for out customers and appreciate your kind words and repeat business. Hope to see you again.
Thank you for giving us a look and hope to see you if you return.
quirky holes
Some short but quirky holes with water and very deep clover in the rough
Thank you for your rating, and yes, you pointed out what makes waukewan, Waukewan.
First Timer
We were vacationing in the White Mountains and I search for a nice course, nearby, where I could golf. This course was 45 minutes south of where we were, in an area near Squam Lake, which I was familiar with.
When I arrived at the course I was very impressed with the facility when I drove in. It was beautiful, looked very well maintained and quite busy. That’s always a good sign! I went to the office and was greeted by a staff member who was very professional, friendly and efficient!! I went out to the cart area and was greeted by an older gentleman who again was very eager to assist me. The practice green was in excellent condition and from what I could see of the course, it appeared well groomed and maintained. I was paired with two others and we went out on time. I was impressed with the condition and layout of golf holes. It was longer than I usually play with lots of interesting twists and turns. Since we had rain in the area this week there were two holes that were very wet, soft and muddy. YUK! Otherwise I enjoyed the round and the company. Unfortunately, I live in Maine and the course is too far to travel to for a day of golf. If I’m in this area again I would definitely want to play the course again!
A nice surprise in the Squam Lake area!!
Thank you for taking the time to travel a bit and try our course. We do have some work to do long term on a couple holes when wet, but as you pointed out, it is still a great experience. Please come again.
Thanks for a great rating. Hope to see you again.
Thank you for your 5 star rating and hope to have you back soon.
Best bang for your buck in lakes region
I keep going back to Waukewan every time I vacation up at Squam lake and I keep being more and more impressed with the unique layout.
As I continue to play this course I realize it was setup to truly test every club in your bag. Plenty of par 4s and 5s that reward big hitters off the tee where length can severely help your score. But, that’s offset by a couple extremely fun par 4s that without two perfectly placed iron shots you’ll be wondering how anyone can get on in two.
As far as long uphill par 4s go, hole 13 is truly a beauty. It might be a 6 on my scorecard on most days, but really tests your ability to be long enough off the tee to have a short iron shot from within 150 or so for a chance to make a par:
If you’re a beginner, Intermediate, or even a scratch golfer you will find plenty of fun here as no two holes are even somewhat alike.
Love this course and will continue to go back.
Hey Tom. Thank you for a great review and five star rating. You comments regarding the course will be helpful to all that read your review. Stay safe and healthy in these times and we will see you again.
Mark, thank you for your excellent rating and for recommending us to others. With the season winding down, keep us in mind for next year.
