Pleasantly surprised
First round of the yea on March 12th, course is not really ready for play, some very interesting holes. Others are typical, straight away, no real character. But the greens, for even this time of year, although bumpy, still were unseasonably quick.
Love Sun Eagles
I love this course, holes 6-7-8 are among my favorite that I’ve played in my short career. Yeah, fine, some of you will moan that the place gets a little wet, but they are doing a TON of work, so the place is only going to get better. Also, the new golf carts were great looking. Keep up the good work.
Great to see work being done
Martello construction is obviously committed to having a first class golf operation at Suneagles and I for one am thrilled!
Improvements are great
I'm amazed by how much money the owners are putting into this course, and it shows. They are really trying to make Suneagles a top course in the area. New drainage, new bunkers, new greens on 16 and 17, fairway repairs, and even cleaned up the ponds. Its nice to see money going back in to a course instead of the owners bank account, which sadly is what a lot of public courses do. Steve is great, very processional, very friendly place. 4 stars because repairs are still coming along and theres two temp greens.
Great Tillinghast Layout
They have put a massive amount of work and money into this golf course over the past couple years which included improving the drainage, renovation of some greens, rebuilding many sand traps, resoding some fairways and removing some trees. The work is ongoing and there are two temporary greens currently. However it is obvious when they open those two greens and the grass starts growing again, the fairways and greens will be in great shape and this course will be fantastic. The greens are bent grass and in good shape after a tough winter. This is a very interesting and very playable course that has some challenging holes. I never lost a ball during the entire round today. The pace of play was excellent and I will be playing here often this season. The only reason it wasn’t 5 stars was because there were two temporary greens.
Great layout
For a Jan round, conditions were pretty good. Two temp greens and temp tee box — and only the white tee boxes available— changed the potential a bit but it’s clear folks are invested in improving the course and the layout is fantastic. Looking forward to coming back after the renovations are complete. There’s also construction going on adjacent to the course; no big deal but this will be an awesome track when all that’s completely done.
Challenging course but beware of the construction
The course was really nice and challenging. I would go again but due to construction it was so confusing to get to the next hole. Also the dust and debris coming off the demo being done was borderline hazardous. We played through. I felt the price should have been discounted with all the construction. Still I would go back.
BBH
Love the old school layout, staff is great. It gets WET but they are working on it. Holes 6-7-8 are the best.
Wrong time to play SunEagles
With Temporary greens and a wet course, inwas not wowed by the course. I like the layout which gave me a vignette of Tillinghast, much like Seaview Bay gives you a Donald Vignette. Better tending is coming and needed for this gem.

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to write a review. We are glad you enjoyed the layout and hopefully the improvements to the two greens that we rebuilt will make your experience even better on your next visit. We have already begun extensive drainage work on several holes and will continue throughout the winter and into the future.
