Great service, course well maintained, love seeing the deer and rabbits . . .
Great 9 to start the day
Love this course. Have easily played it 50x and still find the greens challenging. Affordable, easier then other courses to get an early tee time, staff that cares about the course conditions. Would play here every morning if i could.
Good course to play with your kids just learning
I believe it’s one of the oldest courses in New Jersey and the staff is super friendly . The greens are the size of a glorified mini putt . This course is good if you’re teaching your kids how to play golf. Matter fact, the guy in front of us brought his dog along with him. Needless to say, glad to experience this course once.
Another great visit
This is a great value and a wonderful staff adds to experience,
Well Managed
Fr the past couple of years I've noticed some great managed areas overall on this course. The grass is thick, in fact so thick I both us had problems finding our balls in the rough. Which fine! Very well groomed! The greens were great!...no bare spots! The only obstacle I'd like to have might be possibly some water areas.
You did make it clear when booking so I had to pay your booking fee then pay a greens fee to the starter… (no savings) you should tell folks what your fees are for b4 booking … I will not recommend your site
Local Gem!
I was looking for a local, after-work course and Larkin fits the bill. I got teamed with three local young men who showed me the ropes, as it was my first time there. The 9 hole course is a little on the shorter side but still challenging from the blues. The greens are small and usually protected by traps. Fairways and greens were in great shape. A couple of the tee boxes were a little rough. Great value at $33 with a cart.
Arrived 20 mins early and from the beginning my group and I received very negative connotations behind their statements from entire staff, most likely due to the fact we are not from the area (which they asked if we were nearby residents immediately) and are 20 and appear young. Staff warned us early on before we even got the carts that if we “did donuts we will be removed”, which is obviously common courtesy but probably only said because they already felt a way towards us playing as younger adults. In addition, my group is all intermediate level and played a 4-man scramble, moving a little slower because we had more players. Staff very unprofessionally approached us on the final hole to state, “did you guys come here just to be annoying”. We left 2 groups play ahead of us to not hold anyone up, yet the ranger made it seem like we were doing something wrong for not playing at the same speed solo and 2-player groups were playing at. The entire staff is very unprofessional and very rude. I understand their is a pace to be kept when playing a round, but to make us feel like we were moving slower intentionally, especially after we already let others go in front of us prior to being told to do so, was extremely unwelcoming and I will never give a single dollar to them again. The entire situation was very prejudice. Also, they need to hire a new greenskeeper because it was awful on the green.
What was poor about it?
